Stop the jokes, Tim Tebow is an All-Star.

The New York Mets outfield prospect is one of five members of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to be named to the Eastern League All-Star roster, it was announced on Friday.

Tebow's nod to the All-Star Game is no farce. He's proving he belongs and has been performing at a high level in recent months.

I wish Tim all the best--heck, I hope he makes it--but he's hitting .257 at the break--he is a great gate draw and milb as well as MLB are fully aware of that--he also gets 10% of anything generated from milb and/or MLB that uses his face as promotion--good for him!

MLB has had worse All-Star averages so it's fine for MiLB.

Not fair to consider National League pitchers.

His improvement has been impressive. His attitude, well...Tim Tebow.
Guy is just unique. Never bet against him.

Tebow has now raised his average to .270 for 2018 season and is hitting over .300 the past month

He doubled his first AB, but ended up going 1-4.

Obviously it is a long shot for Tebow to have an actual MLB career but .270 in AA is very respectable. You have to think if he keeps it up and the Mets keep sucking, he gets a call up later in the year.

Nothing but the best of hopes for his success--he does seem to be seeing the ball better at the plate--if you've seen him plate any in AA then you know he still needs reps in the outfield--his routes on hit fly balls can mystify you, just needs the reps--

Would have liked to see the September call up. Hopefully given the opportunity for triple A next year. Other side of 30 not good for baseball player. Reaction time and eye hand speed/coordination begin to slip at plate

Hoyt Wilhelm was a 29 year old rookie and made the Hall of Fame, but I can't see Tebow learning how to throw a knuckler like Ole Sarge could.

A fun fact is that Hoyt hit a home run in his first MLB at bat and never hit another one.
