Would love to get Braun and Walker..
If we get them we would be pretty set at O-line
I don’t think it can be stated enough how much of an impact Savage has had on the program. He runs a great S&C program. He’s an excellent motivator and he’s one of the few staff members that’s around the kids all year. Huge to have a guy of this caliber.
One thing I love is the injuries were cut down a lot last year... I know that is a little luck but I cant but think he had something to do with it also...
Agreed. Pretty simple. If you are in better physical shape, understand your own playbook better and what you are supposed to be doing in relation to each play your chances of injury are less. The whole staff contributed to the injury reductions. However I would say Savage and his program get the lions share of credit there.
It's in good shape now. Worst case scenario is we hold steady with a top 10 class, best case scenario is a 10+ win season gets some guys to flip over to us and possibly finish with a top 3 class.
like what your saying but wedint have the same odds. We have to beat puppies and bama to get there. Notvth csecas being Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Clemson. Etc
Gotta feeling that our 2020 RB/APB's isn't really on our radar right now and will emerge as the season comes along.
UF vs. USC in 1981.
Congrats to the staff for picking up two 2020
road graders on the OL this weekend!
Now lets grab a couple of those DT's to go along with!!!!!
82, 83 Both 2nd game
You're right but I don't remember '83 being such a great game for the Gators.
If UF can finish on OL with 2 of 3 of Braun, Walker (my favorite) or leonard you should be happy to add that to last years class.
Maybe 5th but nobody is bumping Clemson, LSU and Bama out of the top three unless it's UGA. Their class has an average rating of 94 but only 11 commits. We'll have a crack at the top three in 2021.
Yea....should have won that game...gave up late TD..then they miss or we block the extra point for a tie...
I like where this class is sitting right now. The Gators have a good foundation at DT, OL, WR and appear to be done at QB. We're drowning in tight ends. Still a lot of excitement to be had with RBs, DEs, LBs and more WRs. Only position I'm worried about is RB. There doesn't seem to be any interest from any big time RBs right now. Was upbeat about Keyvonne Lee but the noles are all over him. I like Toefili but he doesn't look like a three down back and I'm not convinced that he's all that interested in UF.
I think he is and you may be right he is not a 3 down back, but I don't know that is that important this year.
Dan likes to keep his backfield fresh. Multiple backs. Power, burst, edge speed. Every program wants an every down guy of course, but with our system good depth and guys with different skill sets works amazingly well.
Good points from you and Candy. That said, I'd like to see two backs in this class, one of them a bit more sturdy than Toefili. I remember SOS' adage that you need seven running backs to compete in the SEC. It's not quite the same now but I'd sure like to see six, meaning we sign more than two in two out of three cycles. Somebody will transfer and someone will leave early.
