Lets hear it? I'm wondering what made a guy like a place enough to visit 3 times but then not have us in the top 6. Money?

    No, it really doesn’t.

The belief is that McElwain’s final class would have been pretty good; some say it would have ranked #1 overall. He was on track to bring in the best of the best, all the big dogs on the block, amazing wide receivers out the ass crack, and that was just two years ago.

So what happened? Why can’t Florida compete??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I think we stopped recruiting him hard after the Steele situation. We focused on others to play lb/buck and ended up with Wingo and Powell, so now we are full.

We'd obviously take him if he expressed interest, but he's not a priority.

Interesting. Thats why I asked if we were interested in others and I thought someone answered we were still after him. Your version makes more sense under the circumstances

It would have been very good. Makes me wonder if our recruiters were very good- developing relationships and gaining trust- or if perhaps something that staff was doing to entice players to come to UF was not available or being offered when CDM and staff came on board.

Our RB coach is Greg Knox.....he's asleep at the wheel when it comes to recruiting. And y'all feel y'all still have a shot at Parrish too from what i hear

Probably a combo of Johnson, Knox, and Mullen cause being Wright's an RB, i'm sure Knox was involved in a big way in his recruitment. I just like to give Knox a hard time on the trail just because it's become the thing to do lol

Knox and Hevesy are known as loud or big screamers at practice. That may turn off some kids that watch practice. When you listen to kids, they often say how they like how the coach teaches kids during practices. Knox and Hevesy are also an a acquired taste. Difficult for you to develop relationships with initially, but they grow on you when you get to know them. This hurts in recruiting. Unfortunately they also are not the type to check in every day with recruits. You here the kids comment that other coaches check in with them each day versus every couple days with Knox and Hevesy. They should at least have a Player Personnel type grab their phones and send motivational messages or other bonding emails each day. If you are not good at it, delegate it to others on your behalf

Yep. Wish we would have offered him - just hoping the reason we didn’t is because behind the scenes the staff feels good about higher rated guys.

    He’ll do well at Nebraska.
