Well Wanne I’d agree but that’s not something to be real proud of I mean IMG or STA May have better O lines than FSU.

Can't get a more skewed fan perception than that. Grass isn't greener in Tally.

If you go by fictional recruiting service ratings, it's a dead heat. Just a little thought reveals FSU has major problems with their class addressing needs. If one really likes FSU's class, they'd have to be doing cartwheels over ours.

Right. It makes no sense. Presumably someone is in their ears about our staff but same doesn’t hold true for fsu. My saying we need another good season for credibility is conjecture- an educated guess- that recruits do not yet believe. The other option is our organization falls short in recruiting... not much, but enough to make the difference between 12th and 5th for now.

We’re I a RB I wouldn’t touch fsu and if a HS coach I would tell my RB to haul ass. It makes no sense.

Because Willie can recruit. It's like you're forgetting we almost had a top 10 class in 2018 after a 4 win season ourselves with only 20 commits. So for them to have a top 10 class, at the moment (it won't last imo), is not something surprising.

Seriously. Akers had one hundred yard game. One. And he didn't get that until their 11th game.

HS coach doing a huge disservice if they endorse an RB to FSU. They need to protect their kid.

And they were trying to push him as the Heisman front runner too.

    (To the thread)

As we all know that cesspool will always recruit well. Even when Meyer was dog walking them they were still recruiting well, and it flipped in their favor when Meyer went AWOL mentally. They're still stuck with terrible coaches, so their classes will fall flat as long as WiLLLLLLLie T is still there.

One thing if their OL class is 5 four star, very good prospects. Lets see if those commits stick after the season. Whoever said they expect fsu to have a good season- presumably meaning they gel together and trend up- could be right. I don't see it. Are they dancing at practice?

I don't know what that means. I guess you can tell a kid he's the future. Perhaps you tell a kid his natural talent will take him to the NFL in three years so just come to fsu and party like it's hot or drop it like it's 1999. We will see if their commits stick.

I know what you mean but you have to imagine what he's telling these kids. What would a good recruiter say to mask what we saw last season? He's terrible during press meetings. I can't imagine a kid not seeing that same persona when they talk about the program. We'll see if the commits stick if they have another poor season.

He's got a bit of a fortuitous timing element right now, as this recent cohort of recruits was just about hitting 7/8th grade when it was all Nattys, Heismans, CFP, Jameis, Jaylen, and Dalvin. Shaded the general impression of the program as many kids became more aware, I'm sure.

Add to that the concerted effort by their athletic department to pin last year on Jimbo, as if he were there, and kids will hear what they want to hear. Throw in max stipend and coeds at FAMU, and you've got Willie recruiting above his actual production.

But as you say, if they flame out again this year, there really won't be a way to huckster back to success.

It's safe to say that you should not expect a recruit to pledge to UF before the start of the season

However, if we crush Myhammy bad, I would expect one, possibly two in short order.

I get the impression that CDM is much less impressed with the DB in Florida this year than the recruiting services are.

    Henry Gray

    ON FLORIDA:

"They want me to play safety and I think that could be a real good thing for me the more I consider it. They know what they want me to do and how to use me, that’s good. I talk to those coaches a lot and I’m starting to like safety. It gives me the range to do more."

surely there are some high 3s and 4s that are actually pretty darn good. We just might not be in on them.

Hope Shawn Davis shows up this season.

One would hope so. Some guys like Pouncey and Dennis are ranked fairly highly without our staff seeming to push really hard for them unless there is something I am missing.

Could be as simple as Pouncy saying no ty instead of playing a bunch of games. Then Mullen moved in a different direction. All we have is mostly speculation.

How much different in the 100 best player and the 175 best player? The 5th best OL and the 15th best. 1 inch .2tenths
Some kids are 19 be 20 by freshman year. Some are 17 big difference now, how about in 3 years who knows.
Judge any class in 3 years then you will know how you did.
