Scottie is definitely an emotional player and was likely very salty about the ass-whooping as well as reduced minutes in the first half (a lot of his minutes wen to Tre). It might be someone reading a little too much into an awful game. I can't imagine a lot of positivity on the bench, especially in the second half. You're not going to visually witness a lot of buy-in during such a putrid performance.

That's true. I agree it's unfair to judge during an emotional game. Still, didn't think he'd be the whiny complaining type. But sometimes the most positive people can be negative as hell when the s$%t hits the fan

True. He seems like a high energy and character guy. That being said, if things go bad no excuse to take it out on the towel boy lol. Hopefully that’s not a pattern and just out of sheer frustration for this one game.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'm tossing my hat into what I guess is an increasingly large ring and am close to a vote of no confidence here.

I'm not one to bash and have been as supportive as possible of CMW, but the themes are just too consistent to ignore any longer.

His ability to be an effective motivator is in question, his ability to get the most out of his players is in question, his ability to game plan and adjust is in question.

It pains me to say it. It pains me to watch it.

Scottie should try making a free throw.

Totally agree about Tre Mann. He looked great early and then he was taken out of the game. That was so frustrating. The offense looked good with him and this was the game to ride him. I especially like him with the ball and Nembhard playing off the ball. AN at the point just isn't working right now. Still want him on the court, but at the 2 or 3.

The team lacks an identity. I still can’t figure out what they are good at doing. Everyone looks like role players out there, which is concerning considering all the talent in this team.

I think this team needs to focus on being tougher. Anytime they face a physical team, they struggle. Full court press after made baskets and attack the rim on offense. Turn Locke into our 3 point sniper specialist. Turn Scottie into our slasher. He should be trying to dunk on everyone. Surprisingly, Nembhard is the only one showing real aggression on offense. Keyontae and Blackshear need to muscle their opponents down low. Seal their defenders and use that butt to back em down, pivot, pump fake and go up strong. If they get doubled, kick out to a shooter or catch Scottie cutting to the basket. It’s not that hard!

Go read White's quotes in Harry's article. Cringe worthy. Talking about needing better culture in year 5 with a team of 100% his guys he recruited for his "system". We've had culture issues since he got here no matter the roster if you listen to White over the last 4+ seasons but what's the 1 constant? It's White, he's the issue. 100%. He also said this was our best offensive performance of the year lol. I realize we missed some open 3s but for a coach at a UF level school to say and believe that shows how out of touch he is and how incapable of coaching O he is. So sad.

Same here. Imagine using Blackshear in Donovan's pick and roll offense. Imagine Lewis running the floor. Imagine alley oops to Johnson. Sigh

It’s strange. If you watch brief videos of our practices, you hear coach telling Lewis to run, that he’s the fastest player in college basketball. It looks like we practice fast, and that we want to play fast. Then you watch the game and we’re - purposely most times - playing like we’re Virginia or Princeton. It’s mind-boggling, especially given our personnel

Was going to hit the disagree button but out of respect will just say why I disagree.
In basketball one can take any type player and develop a team regardless of the size or athleticism. 5 guys on the floor with average talents can always beat teams with individual talents but it takes a coach that understands how. CMW has no clue in this department and he isnt going to find it now.
We all see the talent on the floor but the scheme and motivation are seriously lacking so I predict that White is gone this year. Logically he must. To give year after year after seeing his pattern of coaching just isnt responsible and new direction and energy must be brought in.

Usually the bad shooting is covered up by good defense. But I thought even the defense was really bad tonight.

I'm officially out on White. Will continue to watch/support this team, but it's clear White is not the answer.

The camera was behind him on one of his free heaves, you could tell, as he aimed his shot, it was to the left of the rim, and he missed it badly left. He needs to get to the line, quit spinning the ball, but line up properly, concentrate on the middle front of the rim, his right hand and arm should go up and let the ball come off his hand soft with a little back spin. Same motion every time and hopefully he will get better. His set shooting motion needs some work also. At his size, his athletic ability is off the charts, but in the pros he will be in the developmental league working on his shooting form. He will only go as far as his shooting will carry him. CMW should have some NBA scouts come and tell him the truth.
Was Tauren Green the pg of the back to back titles? He was money, maybe he could come back and help Scottie. Just a thought.
