Now we lose to State? Something is going on. This team is better than that. They need to figure it out or the season is going to slip away. When is the last time this team was unranked?

2 sign with Gator Mary today. I would assume more to follow later this week or in the spring given the small current roster of 13 of which 5 are classified as seniors. But who knows given the Covid-19 extra year eligibility possibility with these 5?

It appears Emerson Hoyle is a 3rd signee today although not acknowledged in the earlier announcement by UF.

Apparently a fourth AVCA 1st team All American has either signed or is committed to do so in Amaya Thomas of Orlando University High. Ms. Wise has not lossed her touch on the recruiting trial. Interesting how every athletic program save one is doing well in recruiting at UF. And that includes the embattled women's basketball program. Meanwhile over at the football program office not only are they putzing around in this vital endeavor but they continue to shed recruits to our biggest rival who happens to be running circles in recruiting over us. UGA recruits very well in multiple sports but arguably there is only 1 maybe 2 (WBK) sports where they are recruiting better than UF. Get it together Dan.

Addendum: Gator Mary actually has (or will soon) have five AVCA 1st team All Americans signed for this cycle the most of any school in the nation. Emily Canaan, libero from Allen, Texas is the fifth. Very impressive haul.

Turns out State is pretty good in volleyball this year. Didn’t see that coming. The team is playing better with 2 big games coming up this weekend in Fayetteville. Go Gators!

One game back in the loss column with 2 more matches to play than UK and MSU:

    2021 SEC Volleyball Standings (secsports.com)

UF also swept 4th place UT and gets to do the same to the 5th place piggies.

The Gators control their destiny in SEC play. Like last year, it'll likely come down to UF vs. UK, this time in Lexington.

I read somewhere that the volleyball team was dealing with injuries or sickness earlier in the season. However, those early losses were against terrific ooc competition aimed at getting the team ready for a successful season. This is a team a lot lime last season in that they can beat anyone in any match if they play up to their potential.
