A new group of donors has formed the Florida Achievement Support Trust. This particular one is for softball only. As you can read below, this should allow the program to recruit and use the Portal on a more level playing field. Thank you, donors, for making this happen. Go, Gator Softball!
Great news Scrappy but need more info. How do you contact and support this group. Googled Florida Athlete Support Trust and got nothing.
Right now, they are keeping it close to the vest, but more information will be forthcoming. I do know right now the minimum donation is $10,000. Anyone who is able and wants to donate at that level, PM me, and I can put you in touch with the right people.
I wish there were no such thing as NIL, but accepting that reality, I'm glad that we're jumping on it early so we don't get left in the dust.
It does seem strange. My only guess would be so that they do not have to listen to a bunch of $100. doners bitch about how the money is being spent, or so they do not have to be as public/transparent with how the money is being spent. You don't want your rivals knowing your every move after all. The smaller the group in the know, the better in that regard, I would assume.
Remember, this is softball only, and each person on the roster will benefit equally. This is the way NIL should be done.
Interesting. I did not know that. I do not like NIL in its current form in regard to football, but I'm also not a fan of collectivism. Too bad NIL can't come closer to what was sold to us in the beginning.
I don’t know what was sold to you, but if this isn’t what you saw coming, it’s just because you didn’t want to see it. The flood gates were opened as far as they can go, with no real way to slow the flow other than a lack of water.
Glad to see the ladies getting something. Were still not on equal footing with Oklahoma (Allegedly, Alex Storoko - the ace transfer from Michigan, was paid $ 50,000 and a new truck to sign) but at least we can show that they will get something when they come to UF.
This is what I thought, and Sandman70 had it confirmed to him: The reason they are soliciting larger donors at this time is to make sure that they have enough capital to get started and be good for a couple of years. When they get that in place, they will be glad to take any level of donation. That will be announced fairly soon.
