Class Balance is the next thing CDM will want to achieve. This is very subjective but does give us something to work with as far as numbers for 2020.

What I believe would be current numbers for the 2020 class. This could change slightly after spring if a few guys decide to move on.

QB: 4 on roster Franks/Trask/Jones/Jones UF could lose 1 or 2 and will sign 1-or 2.

RB: Perine/Davis/Pierce/Clement/Wright UF will lose 1 or 2 and will sign 2.

TE: Krull/Gamble/Pitts/Zipperer/Lange UF may lose 1 and will sign 1.

WR: Hammond/Swain/Cleveland/Jefferson/Toney/Wells/Grimes/Copeland/Weston/Whittemore/Marks/Henderson UF will lose at least 4 and will sign 4.

    OL: Banks/Buchannon/Forsythe/Delance/Heggie/Moore/McDowell/Bleich/Gouraige/Wilson/Tarquin

Equakun/Hammond/White/Simmonds/Harrod UF will lose at least 2 and will sign 4.

DL: Greenard/Ancrum/Zuniga/Shuler/Dunlap/Conliffe/Clayton/Slayton/Campbell/Carter/Chatfield/Langham/Humphries/Bogle/Summerall UF will lose at least 5 and will sign 6

    LB: Johnson/Jackson/Reese/Moon/Miller/Houston/Brunson/Black/Hopper/Diabate/Pierre

UF will lose at least 3 and will sign 3.

    Saftey: Taylor/Steiner/Stewart/Davis/Edwards/Linton/Dean/Burney/Huggins/Reese

UF will lose at least 1 and will sign 2

    Corner: McWilliams/Henderson/Wilson/Hill/Elam/Steele/Kimbrough

UF will most likely lose 2-3 and will sign 3.

That is 27. If UF only signs 25 then one less at Safety, 1 less at LB.

All subject to change based on who declares early, transfers or does not stay eligible.

Really liked the way you laid that out, Candy (what we have, what we might lose, and the corresponding numbers we would need at each position). Makes it really easy to grasp the big picture. Thanks!

All this is great to see laid out like this. Thanks for the breakdown, Candy. The one thing that makes me a bit concerned is how many DL we have to replace in one year. Losing one or two is acceptable losses to replace, but 5 seems much more difficult because of the nature of the SEC and that position... Plug and play D-lineman are hard to find straight out of high school.

We are close on many of these. I have us with....
QB - 1 >I think Mullen will try to get 1 a year unless attrition is greater
RB - 2 >Its a good year so get them while you can
TE - 0-1 >If we don't lose one we don't sign one, 5 is enough, better things await in 2021
WR - 4 >12 on scholly is optimal here and its a good year for Florida
OL - 3-4 >Lets see how the new guys settle
DL - 4-5 >Depends on any that transfer out
LB - 3 >Sign and replace and no juniors to lose
    S - 2 >I think we lose more than 1
CB - 2 >Always good to get at least 2
Defensive numbers will adjust after we see where the new players settle in at (DE, LB, or S). Also any of these may change depending upon further attrition, more than the 2 we are currently over, or other players added. So I see us signing between 22 to 25 depending on attrition. You probably know I tend to go low to start where others go high.

I could be wrong but in my opinion, something is going to have to give at the TE position. It seems like a logjam has developed there

We are going five wide with tight ends against the nickel

Our downfield blocking will be fun to watch

Easy answer is move lang to DL. not sure if it's the right answer though.

Is Brian Edwards still on scholarship at corner? There was talk of him making strides heading into last season, and he was expected to compete for playing time. That didn’t quite work out.

I can’t find any info on him, beyond being out for the Georgia game.

Agree with the idea, but it might not be as bad as it sounds. Ancrum and Dunlap are 2 of the losses and they haven't played much. And while its doubtful , I think Dunlap could have 2 more years if he wanted them.

On the other hand, clayton, slaton, and conliffe could all leave earlier than expected.

I'm still not sure what type of DL Grantham wants (assuming he stays)

Haven't heard of him leaving, although it wouldn't be a surprise. From playing time alone, he seems to be a guy who might not have bought in.

Its going to be interesting how transfers play out. Some positions are very young, and could use veterans to fill in the classes.

You may be more accurate. I really just wanted to have a starting point so we can all see the numbers the staff is working with. Good point on TE. It could be a slot for another position. Someone suggested that Krull may try to leave early due to his age. I think he needs a good year to do that.

As a recruit, he had an incredible physique but was considered raw. He is definitely one you want to develop if he can take to the coaching.

Supposedly, he is 6-3 235 now and possibly still growing taller. I expect he will play at LB or Buck in 2019.
