Hockey on TV in the standard definition days was only viewable by people that could discern where the puck was by how the players were reacting. That "improvement" with trails after the puck was horrible. Lloyd Pettit called a lot of Blackhawks games on the radio way back in the day and if you knew the game it was like seeing it live. I must have seen at least 100 Blackhawks games live at the old Chicago Stadium and always had great seats. My dad knew people.

Hockey on radio is like baseball on radio in the theater of the mind.

Not really. Maybe when the bases are loaded and a ball is hit hard but might be fielded with two out, but not usually.

Have to admit, I was sort of surprised Arkie lost that game. They had a few chances to score but they just couldn't get that one big hit to get the runs they needed, but fsu did. Tip of the hat to fsu last night on their win. It's also amazing how one fluky play can turn an entire game around. That's what is so great about the game of baseball.

I have a bad feeling about this. The SWAC is getting great pitching.

fsu was playing scUM at Mark Light Stadium and Morris had a guy hiding in the outfield. I think he was actually looking through a hole in the wall, or in one of the wooden placards hanging on the fence. Martin sent someone out there to confirm that someone was hiding and stealing his signs. The scout came back and got an official, either an umpire, or a cop, and took the official with them, where they found a man sitting in a chair, with a pair of binoculars and a walkie-talkie. I happened to be watching the game live. The game was stopped and there was a meeting of the umpires and the coaching staffs. I don't remember the exact fallout from it, but it was pretty amazing. Ever since then, scUM, and not fsu, has been my most-hated baseball team.

    DG--

If memory serves me right scUM had gone so far as to find the frequency of SWAC's walkies, listening in, and relaying the info to the scUM dugout on a different frequency--(SWAC discovered it because the two frequencies were so close to one another there was bleed-over on the channels)

Thanks, Bill. As that great American philosopher Fred G. Sanford once said, "I don't like a thief, but I hates a dumb one."

Do you recall what became of all that?

So Miami is to college baseball as the Patriots are to the NFL.

Miami hasn’t done squat in 20 years. Notice how this happened spring 04 right before they joined the ACC. And once they joined their athletic programs tanked.

Cheating ain’t right but there is no such thing as cheating against the Holes.

"That brought Martin charging from the dugout, prompting a 15-minute delay in the game"

Are they sure he wasn't just making a mound visit?

I really don’t get how this Seminole team is still playing. I DO NOT want to see a storybook ending to the lord of no rings career. I don’t respect him or that crap program and celebrate every one of their losses.
