A little disappointing for a school with such a great architecture department, though the only comparison I have is Northwestern. Drove by at night a couple of weeks ago. Damn!

Absolutely. Miami was intoxicating for me when I moved there at 19.

Funny what tiny bikinis and full figures can do to impressionable young men.

I wonder, given the combination of money and the potentially financially devastating allures of Miami, how many of those Miami signees end up worse off down the road bc of what attracts them there now. It seems like a sad movie I have seen too many times. We see it in young professional athletes in the early twenties. Now we're talking about teenagers. There is no prohibition for a 16 year old to get NIL money.

I imagine there will be bad outcomes for sure. One thing I'm curious to see is how this affects players motivation to continue to push and train to the degree required of a major college athlete and subsequent pro. We always hear about pro players signing big contracts and then falling off because the motivation is lost once they secure the big money. Will a 17 to 21 year old kid continue to wake up early, eat to train, physically train and mentally study to hone their skills?

That's a great point. I hope it motivates them, really. But, if what you wonder about should happen to the our rivals, well then you get what you pay for.

Bama and Georgia have been pulling it off for a while now in part because of their massive staffs which results in a better staff to player ratio and facilitates "attention to detail " that Saban and his minions get credit for. I have no idea how Cristobal runs his program but I'm hoping he isn't the CEO that Saban and hopefully Napier are. In that regard I have confidence Napier knows how to manage all of this.

I stopped in Gville the other day to see a friend. Drove around campus and was quite impressed with the new facilities I saw especially the new baseball stadium and the surrounding facilities.
On the other hand downtown gville, not so attractive. Did have a great lunch at Harry's tho.

Mostly the exterior design. I was comparing it to the new Ryan Fieldhouse at Northwestern, which is mind-blowing from street level. The renderings of the interior are just as impressive. There's a 40-plus foot glass facade running the length of the field on the eastern side looking out on Lake Michigan. I'm sure the Heavener Center is just as state of the art, just not much to look at. I see HOK was involved in the design and engineering of both facilities, partnering with other architecture firms.

Truthfully..all I would care about is the inside and if it meets what the coaches and players need
