The media is going to "both sides" themselves right into being banned by an authoritarian, fascist federal government where everything but Fox News is banned from broadcast.

Kind of ironic, considering her career was *checks notes* local tv news anchor.

But no, i don’t think this one is going to seriously “reform” media. Just means if she wins she’d probably just try to ignore whatever sunshine laws AZ has, and she’ll probably only answer questions from “friendly’ media that is willing to carry her lies. That isn’t reform, it’s demanding media act as propaganda for the state.

Ironic maga goes nuts regarding constitutional right to collect assault weapon. And basic common sense laws, which a majority want to curb mass killings and gun deaths, maga claims is really a slippery slope in negating those constitutional rights. And maga also claim to be “strict constitutionalists”.

but, they suddenly change their beliefs when its about the press.

    Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Other than claiming Republicans are constant victims and the most reasonable people ... what do you think about the subject of the thread. Does the governor or president have that kind of authority over the media? Or should it?

Does the governor or should the governor have authority to 'reform' the media?

Holy cr@p....and I thought Kari Lake went over the edge when she could not suck up to Obama enough to get a post in DC. But wow, she has nothing on this post.

The definition of media these days is anyone with a following and a phone. Mass numbers looking for the gotcha and to make a name for themselves to break from the herd. Mass numbers and non stop infotainment has diluted the gene pool.

Orange_and_Bkuke's bacon response is absolutely correct for a change: they are not all the same. As just one example, Carlson, Hannity and a host of other fund-twits are far worse because they invent facts to spin and deal in sensationalism. MSNBC is biased, but it doesn't peddle lies.

What she and all others demonizing media mean is that they themselves will replace it.

Lake is perhaps the very best example. She has no problem whatsoever with all manner of biased untruth being bellowed from every TV in the world. She just wants to be the one to do it, just like she is right now.

When she has the juice the “problem” as she would have us believe it will have never been worse, and yet no longer a problem because she’ll be the one that does it.

There is nothing mysterious about totalitarians being upset about any amount of lack of ultimate force and control.
