I have done it for swords on the other side of the Gulfstream drifting in an area off the Bahamas known as White sands. We had a couple lights in the water and four squids rigged with light sticks at various depths. Some of the creatures that show up in the lights are pretty wild looking.

We didnt land a sword but caught some sharks and large mahi. Definately a fun trip.

Glad you enjoyed the Caymans. Headed to PI on Monday next week for some inshore fun.

Second trip with the family to CI. Prefer the east and north side to the busy side.

Bait is scarce but snook should be around the moving water as they migrate out to the passes. reds should be schooling soon. if the wind lies down, the red grouper bite has been hot in 65 feet plus

[IMG] I'd like to put in a good word for Capt. Meyer Aubry pictured in rear who put us on fish all weekend and was a lot of fun to be around. If you are ever in Grand Cay or Walkers Cay and need a guide I highly recomend him. He is a hard worker, and a great guy to be around. Capt Meyer spent the entire weekend with us and we all felt we had gained a good friend. We considered him one of the crew.

So I have been a little busy with my latest catch:

But I have been fishing twice since she was born on March 13th. First was a redfish trip where we caught 3 overslot fish(no pics) and decided to go play with the big uglies. I caught one on fly, which took about 45min and while fun, was generally a bad idea lol.

Second trip was our fist Cobia trip of the year on Saturday and it was quite fruitful.......netting my buddy and I our personal bests of 47lbs and 57lbs respectively. Hell of a day!

I got a power rod wrapper/rod building supplies for my birthday in March. If you were thinking about getting into rod building be careful, it is addicting and expensive!

Here is my first build. Its a 7'6 medium I built for redfishing, and its gator themed naturally....

6:30 long video. We did not land him but we did "jump" him. That's one of my son-in-laws up there on the bow. My buddy Bob and I can be heard "encouraging" him.

Awesome pics, guys! Beautiful family, Rella...love the Gator rod and the fat Cobes. My tournament partner wraps rods a little on the side...think I'll see if he can make one similar for me.

As for the fishing, it's been pretty good over this way despite all the fresh water. We fished Nick's Redfish Roundup out of Choctaw Bay last Saturday and finished 3rd....had a great time and caught a pile of nice fish. Here are a few recent exploits.
