Glad to see you guys keeping this thread alive.
Played hooky last Friday and got on the reds.
Forgot to add this. We smoked them up for the gator game and they were EXCELLENT!
Nice work Rella!
Have been hearing the fishing in Pine Island/Boca Grande has been amazing of late. Hope to get out there soon but am in a walking boot so gotta wait a few weeks.

This vid was shot last week. First time using my GoPro; so make sure you click the HD link beside the volume control when watching.
I'm not sure the length or weight of the fish. Guessing +35lbs and nearly 40"
We caught 4 that day.
We are going after some more of them this weekend if the wind lays down.
mullet are everywhere, bait is all over the beaches. had a BIG snook take my sons topwater plug in Estero Bay on Sunday and used the nearby mangroves to make short work of the light spinning tackle we had him on. he was feeding on 12" + mullet and he took out 30 lb braid locked down pretty tight. never saw him but the explosion when he inhaled the plug nearly scared my son into dropping the pole. only 10 but now he knows what it feels like to be humbled
Not much compares to watching a big snook crash the water. I'd love to have seen to look on your son's face!
My God, that's a really big fish.
lochness sea monster?
1st tarpon (missed the 3 jumps and edited out the 1st 19 minutes)!
Very cool! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Well I just caught the biggest snook in my life last night, on U.S. 41 at port of the Isles, she came in at a whopping 49 inches and 33 lbs. Yes sir, was a heck of a fight, sadly I didn't have a camera or my phone so the only thing I have is the memory. Put up a heck of a fight. Still get goose bumps thinking about it.
What did she eat!?
she demolished a maverick golden eye, red with chartreuse and white, I have fished with these lures since I was a kid at night and have had success with then when they woudln't even hit live bait. I also use a little mullet sent on my lures, and it helps as well.
Where are you fishing in like Jupiter or something?
No, I fish close to the west coast, near Marco Island down US 41, its brackish water, and the snook grow big and mean on that long stretch of highway between naples and miami.
Awesome! We've caught some large snook like that over the years fishing from land on the north side of the Jupiter inlet on incoming tides.
I've always wanted to try the snook fishing over that way, and around Stuart.
