I think i was there that night - Buddy was one of our favorites of that era. Loved watching him in CF - where triples went to die.

With that wide angle you can see how perfect the timing was. Reese on 3rd breaks for home EXACTLY - when the pitcher comes set and stares at the runner, Horvath, on 1st. I think I see Reese raise an arm as he started running - maybe a signal to Horvath. At the moment Horvath sees Reese take off he starts running then stumbles, then the moment of indecision, confusion, on the mound, and Reese scores. The timing was perfect and a thing of beauty.

It's the funnest thing I've ever seen in baseball! High school recruits are going to be shown that clip.

Tearing it up in the Padres’ system. I had basically written him off as someone who would never hit professionally, but he’s one of the organization’s leaders in offensive stats.

Yeah, I felt that way too. Sounds like he revamped his swing this year, according to that other article posted.

Does anyone realize just how close Langworthy came to being robbed three times in one game! WOW, i'm glad the third time wasn't the same. Credit Auburn. They played extremely hard in the field.

It was very close. The non catch could have been a catch, a difficult catch but the RF had a shot, he got twisted around and probably didn't have a grasp on his relationship to the fence. The other 2 catches they made against LANG ~~ WORTHY were difficult but less so than the play the RF had. It was great to be there to see #44 hit the game winner after the game before he hit a dinger but we didn't finish the job.
Auburn matched UF on the mound and at bat and they improved their fielding from the series at the Mac during the regular season. They deserved a slot at Omaha but the NCAA/ESPN don't want the SEC dominating the field anymore than they can get away with hence the match ups in the Supers.

I was thinking the same thing. Off the bat, on the previous 2, thought: “double for sure!” But no! Rob- city!
Then this one: thought it was out, off the bat! then see Williams the RF’er tracking for it and thought: “oh, effing NO! Not Again!!” He had a shot to steal another from Austin!

The only way to put it on vs right handed is the early break then get in the rundown. If you can somehow get t(e ball in the firstbasemens hands you can score. Another way I used to make the 1st and 3rd work vs a lefty get a larger lead and make the lefty throw over as soon as the runner sees the pitcher go to 1st break for home. You can about walk in.
On more .. have the runner at first have an extremely large secondary and get the catcher to throw to first . As soon as the runner sees the ball out of the catchers hand break for home. But don’t get fooled by the catcher full arm fake.see the ball leave the hand.
Defending this play .. naw I’ll save this for another time

Sorry for the "low blow". It is hard to not use such a great setup.

While you get high marks on the execution portion you are not getting a great total score due to the low level of difficulty.

It looks like the comedy is going to be here all week to fill the void before there is actual baseball, again.

Don't forget to tip your waiter. And, try the veal.

I owe you a beer at Blatts for that one assuming we make the Finals in an even year.
