No, they are going to mostly pick where they end up, largely based on labor needs and family locations. That is what legal residents do.

No, they get very limited "hand outs from the US Government." Another common trope based on nothing other than treating them as somehow less than adults. They have it better in the US because of the lower violence rates, higher degrees of democratic governance, and the higher standards of living. None of which depends on your preference for them not to have agency as to where they live.

Not be a snark here but how do they get from Venezuela through Mexico?
Do the come on foot?
Can the just cross one border after another?
The one time I flew into Mexico I had to tell them how long and where I was staying.

Just curious seems like walking from Venezuela to Mexico would one hell of a journey.
