Need somebody to hire more coaches
the accusation against Pruitt is interesting- how it affects who the next vollie coach will be is also interesting- would not surprise me if Steel is their settle for coach-he is not a good HC so it will be the same 3-4 years from now
From a UT admin interview I saw yesterday on YouTube, it seemed like the NCAA came after them for level 1 and level 2 infractions. I could be wrong though.
Just wanna make sure I’ve got this correct here...they hire a dc , following week they fire the hc along with 9 assistants and the ad to boot. That’s what we’re going with here ut. Hmm
Well, he knows how to make Vandy lose. That has been a problem for Tennessee recently.
Vandy won 5 of last 9
Step one. Reclaim the state from Vandy. Check
They changed ‘The Rock’ overnight.

Lane Kiffin is reportedly interested. (I am not kidding)
If they are smart they hire Joe Brady.
I hope they don't.
Honestly seems that Pruitt could use that against them in a case.
How can they claim cause for NCAA violations and pending sanctions and then hire a guy with NCAA violation and sanctions in his suitcase?
Freeze would be a great hire, but they are probably not able to pull that trigger.
He could probably make them respectable by year 2
Agree, but his name was mentioned for some of the NFL openings (not sure how seriously). I think he can do much better than Tennessee
Doering is on the Gus bus.
Who should the Vols hire? Chris Doering shares the ‘perfect guy for Tennessee’
This is what I was saying in the other thread about Peyton. I love Doering, but I wouldn't want him leading a coaching search for us.
Ole Miss is a better job right now
I'm sure any coaching candidates will be able to see the UT knife still sticking out of the prior UT coach's back. Question is: How desperate are you to be a HC?
Well that and they aren't smart so my point is moot
All kidding aside, it might be a good landing spot for Muschamp if expectations for the near future are way down, and his hire can be about cleaning up the program. Potential sanctions and loss of recruits/players should allow him some time to work with. Give him 4-5 years to show them what he can do.
They aren't getting anyone of that quality, not with the dumpster fire state of their program, the lack of a natural recruiting ground and the looming NCAA sanctions. They had to reach to get Jeremy Pruitt when they didn't have the latter hanging over their heads, so you can put 2 and 2 together to figure out what level of candidate they are going to attract this go around.
Someone along the lines of Kevin Steele is probably about a high a bar as they can hit.
