Takes the media pressure off the new QB. Any contribution above that is gravy.
How do you know this?
If I'm a QB on that roster, I'm terrified at what The Almighty might do to me in order to get Tebow under center LOL.
Urban loves Tebow... He will sneak him in at quarterback near the goal line. Tebow will make the team no problemo.
Lawrence is going to bust or get injured over the next few seasons and Tebow will take over as QB and lead the Jaguars to a Super Bowl lol
Broncos, Jets, Pats and Eagles!!!!
He’s only at TE to keep his salary low. He’s a short yardage QB, rpo and emergency backup.
One of only 53 players on an NFL team. I just don't see it.
But good luck Tim. I am rooting for you.
Dez Bryant perplexed by Tim Tebow's reported deal with Jaguars
Don’t like the writer’s “utter failure” comment when describing Tebow. In his only opportunity to start and play in a season, he led the Broncos to the playoffs after a many year absence. They include passing stats, but not his rushing stats or that the Broncos led the league in rushing that season. They also fail to mention that Tebow’s stats and wins were better than many greats in games played to that point in a career, such as Manning and Elway. Was he a great passer or all time NdL great. No. However, the only time he failed to lead his team to victories and the playoffs was when he was not allowed to play.
Is there any doubt they will use him like Taysom Hill and why wouldn't you
I guess this is a form of mockery, I don't know for sure. I am not saying TT=The Fridge, did not say their body type or running styles were similar. Only meant that he could possibly used as a fullback in similar short yardage situations to pick up first downs and/or tough yards in the red zone.
Only Tebow can handle what he’s about to go through. His faith will see him through it all, but the woke mob is already chiming in about how racist it is that Tebow gets a shot for an NFL spot over Kaepernick.
Why Not! Gee let the young man give it a try! If he were to make the team and be even somewhat productive in would be a real coo for Jax and Urban!
Lets go Tim!
No it's just players perplexed at how a guy who hasn't played a game in 9 years gets signed so quickly.
Is it really that complicated?
1) His college coach is now the head coach and knows him well.
2) He's the hometown hero, to put it mildly. Everyone in Jax knows Tebow. Jax was 1-15 last year, they need some good community relations. This does that.
3) There is no cost to signing him, as far as draft picks, trading, or free agent deals. It's basically risk-less, as I understand it.
And if it doesn't work, Tebow gets cut, no harm done.
I don't know want to turn this into a bash Cap thing, but one club tried to give him a chance a few years ago, and it didn't go well.
Teams remember that sort of thing.
No chance of that w/ Tebow. If he gets cut, I'm sure TT will just say thanks anyway.
So yeah- no downside, maybe some upside. What's not to like?
Oh, it makes perfect sense to me. Players are just miffed that there are plenty of younger, more productive players who have gotten cut in recent years who won't ever sniff another NFL job, and they see a guy who hasn't played in almost a decade get signed.
From you I expect nothing else
For someone who has never sniffed a football field you certainly like to speak for the players
