He has three years to play three. So he'll probably be more like a sophomore. What I like about him is his quickness for such a big guy. He may not have blazing WR speed, but he's able to get 15 to 20 yards downfield very quickly and is a serious jump-ball threat too.

This kids a beast of an athlete, freaky vertical. He will be very very good for us. Not completely sure how quickly as he isn't in football shape but savage will have a few moths with him, let's see.

Excellent points mdf. The difficulty when playing OLine is more how well and quickly he can absorb the offense and mesh with the rest of the team (Oline primarily), rather than his own individual condition. And in his highlight films he does look like he might be the 6'7" that 24/7 list him at.

If he contributes notable by the LSU game, that would be really amazing.

Personally, I think that Coach Mullen is considering next year more than this year with this young man.

Gamble is practicing. Quoted in this recent article:

Daily Football Fix: Gators' quotebook - GatorSports.com

Tight end Kemore Gamble on how Larry Scott’s coaching has helped him improve his game:

“My blocking has gotten better. He has taught me how to get my steps better and my fundamentals. Right now I am a receiver/passing tight end, but he is trying to get me more into the run game, which I am getting better at.”

This commitment is surprising to say the least. I'm happy to have him as he's a hulk of an athlete.

Gamble is a lot shorter if I remember correctly, 6-2 or 6-3. Lewis and Stephens are done after this year. That leaves 4 with the 2 freshmen for 19', but Lang could go defense as well.

This is a nice pickup. Our roster is in much better shape than it was 3 years ago.

I hope he is involved in red zone and field goal blocking situations this year. Depending on how he develops that could be his niche for his entire career, and could be worth the scholarship solely on that basis.

As a receiver it’s not that complicated but in Mullen’s offense you have to block your assignments and this is where he may need some time.

You may recall that in the past, with Mac/Nuss, Polite sometimes played TE in Goal line and other short yardage situations.

Hey... thank you for the follow up! I have been waiting on Gamble to break out and show that potential that he gave us glimpses of before. I played some tight end back in high school but because of my size, when I got to Florida, I was moved to offensive tackle. I always enjoyed tight end much better. So I have a soft spot for all tight ends. Here's to him becoming a beast!

Doesnt Mullen's OL's run a man blocking scheme? Its a more simple than a zone scheme.

The middle has been open for years with play calling outside the hashes without adjustment

Strong presence in the middle will help the qb with easier throws

huge addition IMO. will give Pitts a year to mature. I think Lange will end up.on Defense. Lange is perfect for this Defense

I did some more research on Krull, Interestingly, he was an All State TE at Mill Valley who apparently runs a 4.45 40. He also historically played WR in High School due to his size, speed and good hands, rather than a blocking TE.

He apparently initially enrolled at Arkansas on a Baseball Scholarship given his 95 mph fast ball and 80 mph change up. Here is some info regarding baseball: Prep Baseball Report - Player: Lucas Krull

So, as of right now, the Gator football team, has added 6 transfers: 2 DLine, 2 OLine (counting Krull as OLine), and 2 WRs, all of whom except perhaps Grimes and Jefferson are eligible this year. When you add that to the 5 returning suspended players (1 RB, 1 WR, 2 LBs and 1 DE), instead of merely 18 in the recruiting class it's more like 29, sort of like a Bama/Tennesse plethora of recruits year.

Krull, apparently is receiving eligibility like Eddie Pinerio did, who came in as an Eligibility Sophomore although he was an Academic Junior.
