Fascinating how big the Taylor Swift tour is. Easily filling any stadium for multi nights. fans without tickets, packing the streets outside the stadium by the thousands to listen to the concert. Biggest since MJ at his peak?

“The Tour is projected to generate close to $5 billion in consumer spending in the United States alone. “If Taylor Swift were an economy, she’d be bigger than 50 countries,
…..in Glendale, Ariz., the concert brought in more revenue for local businesses than Super Bowl LVII, To use that event as a comparison, Swift has been performing the equivalent of two to three Super Bowls every weekend for the past five months”

The Biggest Tour in the History of the World (Taylor’s Version)

“Taylor Swift has such a notable impact on local economies that she’s mentioned as a specific factor in a Wednesday report by the Fed.”

Taylor Swift is so important to the economy that she’s in the latest Fed report

AMC Entertainment stock spiked as much as 9% on Thursday after the company announced details behind the upcoming concert film of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

Now she’s gonna save movie theaters too!

    Taylor Swift is an industry

She’s a rare exception to my maxim that “that many people cannot possibly be right”

I'm happy that people can make that kind of money and make that sort of impact on local economies.

I remember Michal Jackson was about to make London's economy boom more right before he died... not trying to compare the two musically, just impactfully on an economy.

Jackson had booked a fifty (50) concert run in London, all at the O2 Arena (capacity 20,000,) when he died. All 50 were sold out, an amazing statistic.

Hear she’s dating Travis Kelce. The breakup/revenge song will not go well for him and the ribbing in the locker room is going to be epic.

The numbers she's producing are pretty surreal. Not my style of music, but it seems well done for what it is. She's obviously a very talented, driven and smart woman. So more power to her.

So far, younger voters, especially women, have spent the Post-Roe political environment showing up in huge numbers, leading to relatively consistent Democratic over-performance compared to either polls or historic performance. Happened again last night in both New Hampshire (where Democrats won a slightly Trump leaning open State House seat from 2020 easily) and Western Pennsylvania (where Democrats won a Democratic-leaning open State House seat by more than they usually do).

Last election so many stories of young-new voters going online the night before/day of Election Day attempting to vote.

They need to vote as we’re saddling them with burdens that will take decades to resolve.

Another reason I'm a fan even though I don't know her music. First, she rerecorded albums after Scooter Braun thought he would grab artistic control by obtaining rights to original masters. Love her agency.

Second, in the process, she is taking aim at ridiculous misogynistic slut shaming, tryin to embarrass a young woman in her early 20s that dated. We are deeply uncomfortable in our society with feeling the need to control women's sexuality - deep in the lizard brain. We never want to admit the obvious and unremarkable. It infects so much of our public policy discussion.

Saw an interviewer ask her what advice she'd give young songwriters. W/O hesitation she said, Get a good lawyer.

Smart. Just so much respect for her. Her music is probably good, but I have not gotten into new music since Nirvana. But mad respect for her
