Sully taking a leave of absence (Alligator story at #22)

Sure hope everything’s ok. This includes health, home life, children. We need him in that dugout. Sully, good luck and God’s speed.

 

Clearly something is not OK. I hope that whatever it is gets resolved in a good way.

I noticed his SUV was not at practice today.

 

Well I hope whatever is wrong can be made right. Prayers for Sully and family.

 

Sully is expected to return before the end of the Fall according to Kendall Rogers (D1Baseball). We’ll see how accurate that is but hopefully that means it isn’t too serious.

 

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida Head Baseball Coach Kevin O'Sullivan will take a leave of absence from his coaching duties to address personal matters, effective immediately.

During O'Sullivan's absence, Chuck Jeroloman will assume leadership of the baseball program on an interim basis.

"I appreciate the support of the University and athletic department, "said O'Sullivan. "I have some personal and family issues that need my full attention at this time."

"Coach O'Sullivan has our full support as he takes the time he needs to focus on personal matters," said Athletics Director Scott Stricklin. "We appreciate his openness in communicating this decision, and respect his need for privacy."

Like has already been said in this thread, he and his family are in our prayers.

 

So we now have an issue with Sully on a leave of absence and an interim football coach .

For Coach Sully its a family matter. Prayers for him and his family

 

Gator legend.
Hopefully whatever it is, Sully can address it with himself and his family, and get right.
The Gator community is a tremendous resource which hopefully he can use, good tidings to coach.

Life is not always peaches and cream, even for someone as successful as Sully.

 

Where have you been? That has already occurred.

Sully has built something really special here in Gator Baseball.
Let’s all be thankful and willing to give him the privacy and respect that he deserves. Speculation does not wear well.

Thoughts and prayers for Sully and his family whatever is going on. Hope you take the time you need to get it right. Will be thrilled to have you back when that happens!

 

He's certainly earned the right.

I just think it's important that he looks ahead to whether he's able to go back to giving it his all. If he is then great lets go once Sully feels is right. If he's not then fair enough have to acknowledge it. Urban wasn't himself in 2010 after coming back and it showed. I don't know a damn thing but am sure Sully is raring to go.
