Hurt, COVID, etc?
With Nesbit, Cabarcas, and Pogue out we can’t afford to lose him. Especially after what he did last year.
I’ve tried but no one seems to know.
I think if the issue was COVID that would have already surfaced. If it was an eligibility/grades issue that too would have surfaced by now.
Basically that leaves a health/injury issue and as long as those cards are held close to the vest it will continue to be a gray area.
Cabarcas made a cameo vs Stetson....sure they will ease him back, but he should be an option moving forward
Awesome, thank you for that information. That is a big one as gives us obviously another left the arm and I really like the kid.
Good points. Grades and eligibility wouldn’t be an issue with him. it’s the last thing you mentioned that is worrisome.
Nesbit has a very big upside and would have really helped this year. Pogue obviously was going to be a big impact guy this year too. Never thought in a year like this with extra arms/players we would be even considering worrying about this but as we know things are so unpredictable and never know from one year to the next. Manning and Sproat may need to have big years. May need a surprise or two this year.
Found this on another site. Fingers crossed and hope as always (Sully the best at this) being brought along very slowly, as need Specht at his best not until mid to late April. Would take it sooner though.
I guess the broadcast guys on ESPN said Thursday night that Ben Specht was going to need Tommy John surgery. I didn't hear that, but the question was asked of Sully. He said that was incorrect and he expects Specht to be ready for South Carolina next weekend.
And now Armstrong is MIA. Anyone know why he isn’t playing or at least pinch hitting?
There isn’t a place to put him. With Guscette behind the plate, Hickey has to be DH. So where does Armstrong play?? It becomes him vs Butler. I think he deserves more time but Butler has been clean at 1B and hit well. Hard to take him out.
At least keep him fresh with an AB. Something tells me he’s banged up or on COVID protocol. You don’t sit that kind of power.
There was an opportunity to put him in when Rivera came out. Carrion batted for him in the 6th. Armstrong would have been the more logical choice there if he were available.
What about Hunter Mcmullen? Know he was injured last year. Still recovering? Transfer?
Maybe nobody told Sully what Specht's ERA was last year.
He will return in January along with Egbuno
Sure would like to have some of that power getting some ABs
The dude batting .189 should be removed from the starting lineup and Armstrong put in...
So what's your lineup look like with Rivera out (the dude that bats .189) and Armstrong in at 1st I assume?
And don't forget these changes could affect any one of Butler, Guscette, Hickey, Carrion, etc.
I was assuming he'd put Armstrong at ss.
Yeah that wouldn’t work...
As others have said, Armstrong has to play 1B or DH. Halter would have to play SS. So Jacob Young back to 2B and Butler to the OF???
J. Carrion can play SS also batting 100 pts higher than Rivera...
