Yeah, and even within Florida there's quite a bit of cultural and historic diversity. I grew up in what used to be a pretty rural area which is only about a 10 or 15 minute drive to the Alabama state line. Even putting aside the differences between North and South Florida, which everyone knows, West Florida and East Florida were also historically distinct.

Look, you dont have to declare to anyone that you dont have kids, or aren't married. It seaps through your posts whether you intend it or not.

Thats not us taking inordinate interest in you, its simply reacting to the terrain as it is.

It is what it is, and FWIW, who the hell is wgb anyway? Just a construct persona on TH, so it's really not personal against you--the dude behind the handle (whom i still have negative interest in ever meeting or knowing).

Turns out he disagreed. I don’t think he fully understands the meaning of disagree. I find when people don’t know the meaning of basic words in a language that’s native, it’s usually not productive to engage.

 

If you get into a small enough town they just ask you if you’re Baptist or Methodist.

Have to disagree with the punctuality thing from my time in NYC that is about the hardest working and most punctual place I’ve been. Also, they were kind and friendly - but when you get to the front of the line at the deli, you had better be ready to tell the man what you want.

By and large, sure, but some posters lay it out, and in some cases, as in this case, the shear volume and longevity paints the picture.

E.g.--he's been posting on here for like 20 years. He's no longer in his 20's. He's no longer in his 30's.

Use “Sir” and “Ma’am” with teenagers at the drive thru. Just common practice and respect for them and the service they are providing.

So, on the one hand, you have a clear impression of me and my life from my posts but also wonder if its just some made up persona I've created to get my rocks off online lying to people, maybe you arent as good at this as you think

 

I don't feel a need to post further in this thread because this kinda nailed what I feel anytime southerners try to claim the market on kindness with southern hospitality. Thanks for writing it up.
