My problem is if I did something new I've probably already forgot it

Legally purchased weed from a dispensary in Colorado. There was an impressive array of a number of different types. The clerk was knowledgeable about the different varieties and the type of high each provided. His recommendation provided exactly the experience he said it would. :D

Just did some major demo on my house. First demo using a sledgehammer ala HGTV. The previous owner had turned the two car garage into a rec room. This did not fit our lifestyle and it ended up just being a junk/stash room. We decided to turn it back into a garage, so down came the cinder block wall in the old garage door opening. Luckily it was not rebarred into the existing structure, so it came down without incident. A new 150 mph rated garage door will be installed in a few weeks.

During January I went completely without sugar, bread, and any kind of chips. (Potato chips are my weakness.)
This included all breakfast cereals, pasta, sauces, etc.

I still ate. I ate a lot. But I didn't eat what I named above.
I've never done anything like this in the past or dieted much at all.

The effect was immediate. My thinking was clearer and I had more energy.
    And I lost 16 pounds.

Those FDA labels are woefully incomplete. Never have I seen listed the grams of joy and contentment in a serving of Oreo cookies! Just saying...

So nothing to do with a formal diet. I don't know much about Paleo, or Kato, or anything else.
You could say I made up my own diet.

    But I ate a lot...
Breakfast- oatmeal, whole milk, banana, blueberries. coffee w/ half and half or black.
    Snack- nuts or an orange
Lunch and dinner- homemade soup/ chili/ meat, vegetables, etc.
I drank water or water plus lemon juice.
After dinner snack- carrots and hummus. Babybel cheese.

My friend put it this way (who had done some research.)
Your body runs on sugar. And bread, pasta, grains, breakfast cereals etc turn into sugar.
When you cut off the sugar your body will then start burning the fat stored in your body.

This is what happened to me.
I can't speak to the science but I know that I didn't lose weight like this even when I was training for a marathon. (Running 35+ miles/ week.)

I just did this in January and now I'm back to eating some sugar. I'm not losing weight any longer but haven't gained much back either.

Recently took up Skeet, Trap & Sporting Clay shooting so I would be able to do something one of my grandsons enjoyed doing. He is on his high school clay targets team (they avoid using the word "shooting"). I hadn't fired a gun since I left the army over 40 years ago, but really enjoyed it.

Became a grandfather for the first time. My son and his wife had a baby girl last Friday. Just another of life's milestones. It does make me feel older.
