I sure hope none of the ones still on the team want to leave. We don't need dissension in the ranks with the talent on this team.

I will bet she ends up at Kentucky. Her best friend is there.

I was hoping she would go back home to the West Coast.

I'm just guessing. Throwing it against the wall and see if it sticks.

Hate to see this. I had very high hopes for Lefty. She will be missed.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us get another arm.

I'm too old for social media. Who was the author of the reply?

Good for her. I applaud it until she ever plays the Gators.

I dont comment much about softball, but I do watch every game and go to as many games as possible in Gville and when they are in the NC area..SC, KY, TN..but I do know Lefty left because her and her family were upset she got recruited over. It hits young ladies sometimes just like young men, feelings get hurt.
Just like when Beason left the volleyball team, dont let the door hit you on the way out. Have no ill will to her or her family but if you are not a Gator we know the rest

Well, if that is true, then you can either compete or run away. If you are as good as you think you are, competing shouldn't be a problem. So, Tim is not supposed to continually work to improve his team and her team?

I don't begrudge a player being upset because she couldn't meet the standard for playing time at UF. I don't think there is any blame to be assessed.

If you see the writing on the wall and you value playing time over your education, then by all means, enter the portal. She's transferred to the #96 ranked school for a degree, per US News.

Maybe she'll be a starter at Oregon so she can have fun now playing. When 30-year old Lefty looks back and realizes she could have had a UF degree, she may regret the decision as short-sighted.

But as I always say, as long as you don't bad-mouth UF on the way out, then once a Gator, always a Gator. I even felt bad for Beason when her team was getting their a$$ kicked in the volleyball finals.

Yep but this is a different scenario than the other post. There was an unnamed player by Tim who came back in September way out of shape. Logical guess it was Lefty. She got few reps in the Fall adding a little extra credence to that guess. I'll bet she was told in Fall exit interviews that her playing time would likely diminish. So, she left with that information which is somewhat different than just being upset about recruiting to help the team. It still is an avoidance of competing but with the addition of being told you are likely to lose a competition.

I guess I'm a glass half-full kind of guy. I look at it not as an avoidance of competing, but rather wanting to compete at a level that meets your current ability and current desire to put in the work necessary.

I didn’t feel bad for Beason at all. Horns sweeping the Corns was epic and enjoyable!

I read Kaila might have to sit this year as a mid season transfer. Does anyone know if that’s true or not.

The fall transfer window was December 1-15 and she signed with Oregon on December 20, so yes she does have to sit this year. She’ll be eligible for the 2025 season.

If Sandman is correct and he usually is, it wasn't very smart of her to sign five days after the transfer window closes. Very odd.
