If it based on the early entries you don't know what you are talking about. I know one of them personally and she was contacted early on once they could offer within a day or so of September 1. Most don't accept on the spot and take the visit before accepting. An offer was made when she went on her visit shortly after September 1, and accepted within the week of being offered. Don't speculate, have actual facts! Trust people that have been there done that with their own daughters and have been through this process rather than being a grown adult speculating about young females. Just root, don't stir the pot like you appear to want to do. Did you actually go to UF or college?
Well, what a lovely first post. Welcome to the board. Would you like me to post a photo of my diploma?
That is funny because that is what immediately came to mind when I started seeing these various players float over to Tech. What the SMU football program was doing in the 80s. Now the difference back then is the NCAA showed their teeth more back then on situations like this. The NCAA right now is a toothless organization who could care less about stuff like this.
To me the main difference between now and the 80's is that the courts have said college athletes can get compensation. The NCAA stuck their heads in the sand and didn't try to build some reasonable guidelines and parameters to control how that compensation would be handled. Pandora's box is now open and it's completely out of control.
I don't disagree. I could care less if players get paid or if there is a legit reason for actual transferring but the coloring outside the coloring books is not good right now. First thing is putting the portal availability only once an NCAA season is completely done for any particular sport thus you have period for the fall sports in February and then you have the period for the Spring sports which would be July. And then you need to start putting some buffers on reasons a player can go into the portal. IF a reason is just pure money then said player needs to sit out for a season as punishment for something like that. And then extreme punishment for contacting players from other colleges during the season including post season play is prohibited and if you are caught doing this your college is suspended for accepting any portal players for one year dealing with sport. But again the problem with any guidelines is that there is no one available to enforce any guidelines. The NCAA does not want to do it and they don't have the staff to do it thus you are in the wild wild west of what we have right now.
They don’t have the power to do anything. Every time they try to flex their muscles, the court bitch slaps them and sends them back to the corner.
