End of the 1st 1-0 Gators.
First 4 reach in the 2nd to make it 2-0
Bases loaded, no outs, top of the order up......and we strand them all. LOB has killed them for last 2 years
End of the 2nd, 2-0 Gators.
Middle of the 5th, 4-0 Gators. Roberts with her 3rd HR of the day.
End of the 6th, 4-1 Gators.
Middle of the 6th, 6-1 Gators. Echols with a 2 run homer.
Gators defeat USF 6-1. Gators had 6 HRs for the day.
Nice rebound day from the Michigan fiasco. Still a lot of questions, but the bats and defense were MUCH better today
@hoyt233 Thanks for the updates. It's killing me not to be able to watch on TV or attend in person.
Definitely had a better showing today, there best showing of the tournament. I really wish I could’ve watched it.
I know it is only one weekend and four games, but can someone provide a quick synopsis of the team.
Just reading the articles, it looks like a freshman southpaw pitcher along with Lugo will be our starting pitchers, a transfer from Michigan State will play 3B and a few returnees not named Lindaman, appear better hitters than last year (Roberts, Caraway that I can tell)
Trlicek Hurls No-Hitter & Florida Bats Heat Up - Florida Gators
2020 Softball Roster - Florida Gators
One bad game (3 errors) in 5. I think they will be fine.
Accurate synopsis. Just don't get disappointed Tuesday night. Team USA played Miss st., Baylor, Illinois, & Kentucky the last 4 days. The combined score was Team USA 31-1. Cheyenne and Hannah Adams also hit well.
My 2 cents...
Roberts is hitting 176, and drew no walks....so no she didn't appear better. Hit the pair of dingers that concealed a 3-17 weekend. Carraway for sure seems more productive, as does Adams.
Echols is a huge addition in every way, maybe our best player.
Small sample size but I think Lindsey needs more playing time and Mathews did not impress. Hoover seems relegated to spot duty and Sipos barely played. Reynoso is Reynoso, good d and spotty hitting at best
Cottrill scuffled at the plate but she's a frosh, Goddard had limited duty but wasn't bad. Think they both will be fine
Lugo number 1 for now, but Trlicek may flip that if she develops as expected. I was surprised Hightower didn't get more work (wasn't great when she played), Farley still struggling, and Chronister faced 3 batters and 2 of them reached
Probably to early to judge much, but my first takeaway is more Lindsay, Trlicek needs to really be a difference maker, and Roberts/Mathews need to be a lot more productive than we saw
Where can I find a traditional box score for each of the games. I am still not sure who is playing where and the batting order. I suspect the infield is Lindman, Adams, Reynoso and Echols. How about the outfield by position and batting order?
