I like Will Miles r0r, however I think he dives a bit to deeply into analytics.

I do recognize Mertz as being a great addition and expect great things from him however I do think Gator Nation (me at least) gets blinded by the 73% completion % stat.

While I love the completion %, I am far more interested in the starting QBs winning %.

Hoping the offensive passing attack is more vertical than horizontal in 24 and Mertz has more protection to throw deep.

The initial convo was about running an antiquated Knute Rockne run, run, pass offense. Which, of course, is ridiculous... So, it's already been settled.

Some of the data Will presents, could be directly attributable to the shortcomings of last years OL as well as a coaching decision to not make Mertz vulnerable to the types of things that negatively impacted him at Wisconsin , but I'm completely on board with your desire to see more vertical passes next year.

No but it certainly suggests that we didn't suck on offense like the poster was saying. Our issue was defense, we scored enough points to have won most of those games with a even middle of the pack defense 40th or so.

And truly it about TDs when it comes tonan Offense is it not? Fancy plays and a lot of yards don't mean much if they dont end asTD's. I think if we improve the defense and secial teams we are a completely different team.

I am a glass half full, O and B guy but it does seem resonable that with the 3 recruiting classes, the transfer portal additions
and the new coaches, UF (MAY) just, (MAY) cross that losing to winning record threshold in 24 despite the difficult schedule.

I suspect many in Gator Nation are like me, lusting for great success but would be satisfied to keep the staff provided the
team plays better and show progress with the W-L record. (progress defined: minimum of 6 regular season wins).

Of course EVERYONE is exactly like UF, rebuilding for the coming campaign. Has UF done enough in recruiting and the portal
to turn this thing around and play winning football, and break this damnable losing streak?

There will be great speculation over the coming months, as there is every off season. Me, I have put 23 in the rear view window.
Napier appears to be staying so I see no profit in pissing and moaning about the past and instead look forward to the coming campaign.

Some suggest Napier could be gone as soon as an opening loss to Myama, some say he is safe for 2 - 3 more seasons considering
the 7 year contract, irregardless of record.

Me, i'm rooting for a few more bodies to arrive before the fall, a spring with zero serious injuries and an opening day win, at home,
    against the hated Canes.

Simply spending the most doesn’t guarantee the best results. The biggest spender is not guaranteed the top class.

Pretty close though. If you could see exact money and ranking, it would look very similar. Good coaching and winning weighs heavily but money is still king.

I would only add, for someone to drop the serious bank that is required to secure some of these kids,
one better be patient with low expectations. In other words, money is a low priority.

I can think of some very risky stock options that would be far more secure than an NIL 4 or 5 star H.S. kid investment.
The Transfer Portal may offer a bit more security, based on past performance, but thats hardly a guarantee either.

    Think "knee injuries".

For upwards of 90% (probably more like 99%) of the NIL donors, there is zero ROI. It’s not an investment, it’s a contribution.
