And we have to retrain our NIL people to have agents locking down our players the entire last 2 weeks prior to signing day.
The WR went to TAM because some HS friend committed there and the Bama WR coach was hired there. Also Chaos and Bateman moved there Waller wanted to play closer to home. Momma’s boy. He is a tweener as well due to weight. Tweeners have trouble putting in weight to play DL and tough to transition to LB. Seen many times. The last kid moving to Auburn had us 3rd at end. I think he was scared of the McCray commit. Don’t mind any of those flips. X was only one that hurt. Portal transfers more than address other flips.
Obviously not all, and I was really posting it to highlight how early CBN and staff are getting out offers as several hear love to lambast him for being late on guys but we seeing 2026 offers going out and even offered a freshman RB the other day, a first for him. Silly for people to act like this class isn't a hell of a class. We just signed the #1QB who is the highest rated QB UF has ever had, the #1 DLineman in the country and 6th over all, one of the top LB duos in the cycle, the fastest WR in the country(Hawkins) and probably the fastest WR group as a whole and a highlight pass catching TE who reminds me of Pitts 2.0
Butthurt you mean? It doesn't really hurt until they excel elsewhere. As of now he's just a guy. A guy who is Gator Bait.
We were number three in the country and setting out sights on Jeramiahs smith if we showed a good product on the field. It was the on the field implosion that caused our class to fall apart. If we don’t lose the games we were supposed to win at the end of the season, I think our recruiting class looks a lot different. Billy definitely has the ability to sell, unless last year was his year to sell the dream and now the expiration date has passed (ie competition can point to flaws in the system and game day coaching to dismiss the “potential” element
Based on teams bidding for players and our program saying they won’t get in bidding wars. It’s going to happen every year. I tend to agree with our stance. Pay em market value no doubt but these guys playing games should be cast aside for a diff kind of personality.
If by "Fox" you are talking about your avatar, no thank you. Methinks the guys would be too distracted...
My completely uninformed opinion is that our new collective is working much more closely with the CBN/UAA compared to our last one. I think the new GM hire will be even more involved here too. Taking a macro view, as I have alluded to in other posts, I think it has to be this way. You don't want collectives 'getting' players you ultimately don't want, and for the ones you do want, NIL money and the bags some players are given can be a real cancer if not dealt with properly. It has to be managed for long term success IMO and you can't just rely on a collective to make those decisions.
The last collective wasn’t allowed, by law, to work with the school at all. The school is now allowed to coordinate with the collective. At the end of the day, it’s still the collective or individual donor’s job to get the deals done though. It’s not the school’s account or checkbook, and if the money ain’t there, the money ain’t there.
