temporarily while the case is heard. it isn't a ruling on the merits of the case, just one on when the case will be decided and status in the interim.

so now you have immigrants, knowing that if they encounter officials, need health care...will be scooped up and shipped out.

How do you think that is going to impact the behavior of those individuals? will they keep going to work? report crimes against them to authorities? become more likely to resort to violence or high speed running to stop from being detained?

Does any of that make us safer? Does it matter?

Supreme Court lets Trump end humanitarian parole for 500,000 people from 4 countries

The Supreme Court's order is not a final ruling, but it means the protections will not be in place while the case proceeds. It now returns to the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston.

Anyone else find it interesting how quickly the supreme court can rule when it comes to trying to help Trump, but when it came to his criminal trials they didn't seem to be in any hurry whatsoever?

The PRESIDENT of South Africa is one record saying, "kill the Boers." Yeah, they might have a winning case.

What does he have against those boars? For the record, I think more boars should be killed, they are a nuisance.

    Right here
For argument’s sake, let us assume that Trump is human and could potentially make a mistake. Here’s the key question: How would we know when he did make a mistake?

It is returned to the 1st Circuit with a 7=2 ruling. What do you think the First will do? Keep the ruling the same and let the SCOTUS smack them down again?

Never, he is always right. He even has a hat saying so. Donald is the ultimate authority on everything, he knows what he is doing. He working on coloring books while everyone else is wasting time with chess.

Everyone needs to pay him homage, he prefers gold to frankincense and mur.

He is also the most moral human being on the plant. Don't question his judgement. He knows what's best for you and the country. Just knell before him and thankfull for what you receive.

Wasn’t there similar case(s) from his first term?

I think the executive branch obviously does have the authority to both grant and end such TEMPORARY programs. But i believe the conclusion from when he tried to abruptly revoke an Obama era program was that it had to be an orderly wind down. Similar to how pretty much any executive order can be undone.

The other question is “could” vs “should”. Seems some are giddy at the prospect of converting legal immigrants to “illegal”. But…why? So much for the lie about not being against LEGAL immigration.

Donald Trump suffers DOGE legal blow

President Donald Trump's administration suffered a legal blow on Friday when an appeals court refused to halt an injunction issued by U.S. District Judge Susan Illston of California that blocked sweeping federal employment cuts overseen by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In a 2-1 ruling at the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals concluded the decision would have a dramatic impact on a range of government services including veteran health care and food safety inspections and concluded it should remain on hold while the lawsuit continues.

As such, the Trump administration's bid for an emergency stay of injunction blocking the application of Illston's ruling was unsuccessful. It has also appealed her ruling to the Supreme Court.

'DOGE has no statutory authority whatsoever': Court smacks down Trump admin's mass firings

The mass firings of thousands of federal workers by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — with the blessing of President Donald Trump — have been ruled illegal, and Trump just lost an appeal to reverse that previous order.

In a Bluesky post, Politico legal correspondent Kyle Cheney linked to the 45-page ruling by a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals panel (which encompasses Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington state) which ruled 2-1 against Trump. The panel's ruling denied the Trump administration's request for an emergency stay of a previous order handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston earlier this month that ruled the mass firings were unconstitutional.

    Inviting strawman arguments again... please.

The Legislating Branch and the Executive Branches of our government run the trade deals among other daily things, NOT the Judicial Branch. If the Legislature lets the POTUS run our international trade deals then it's none of the Judiciary's business to interfere. I know you want the Judiciary to get involved with trade deals, but that's not how it works.

If you're going to change the thread title to make sweeping statements about the 93% loss percentage from what appears to be a partisan group, then the fact that most of the judges making those decisions were appointed by democrats becomes relevant and should be in the thread title as well.

please provide documentation that majority of judges were democrat. I'll stand by.

The numbers are numbers. cases filed, cases settled, won, loss. nothing partisan about math, likely why maga struggles with it so bad. or is 1 = 1 = 2 fake news these days, like trump gets donation, trump grants pardon, trump paid for pardon. nope, magacan't even do the 1 = 1 = 2 math these days so no surprise they can't process the 93% isn't partisan, it is just math.

got a different source that shows a different %, pelase supply so we can compare the two

but just like the claim that majority of judges ere dem, you can't, so you won't.
