So Excited for Football
When I saw this thread title I asked myself, "Is he talking about the USFL?"
Do you really agree with the claim that Stricklin doesn’t know a thing about sports? That post was just a bit over the top
Tough early slate but we have mega upside (although we can be 1-3 after 4).
IMO we don’t have a title level roster but a borderline NY6 At Large type roster.
So that’s a solid foundation.
But the key to me is AR.
I am super bullish and I see mega upside. To me he can finally be our Cam Newton. Our Burrow/VY/etc. Basically I see him as a 1OA talent that can super shine in college. If he hits his upside he is a Heisman winner and we are a legit playoff contender.
Obviously its unfair to lay that sort of expectations on him. Odds are he will fall short, probably far short.
But he has a chance, which gives us a chance. And that’s damn exciting.
Gee, Wingtee thanks for letting know that the whole student body at Florida is from India or the Middle East. When I was on campus in Oct. I didn't see them.
I agree with you Skink ! Do u think I wanna get on your bad side??
Strick is an excellent AD !
They had mask on . You really have to look thru the mask.
Oh my !! Lol
I’ll take it right now. We can recruit the Bham area hard
What part do you disagree with?
I certainly don’t expect a title or a Heisman this year. Just pointing out we have a top 20 roster with a potential generational QB. That formula has had great success historically, so we have upside
Either way that won’t influence my perception of Napier. I try to evaluate objectively and quantitatively. Process over results always. The Napier process has so far been far far far superior to the last 3 coaches. It is quite hilarious how incompetent they were.
I don't see why so many people are so high on SS. He hired a terrible basketball coach, a failed football coach, an unknown basketball coach, a soccer coach that hasn't recruited that well. Maybe his expertise is on the financial side.
You are so right. Around 81 percent of the student body resides in-state, 13% out-of-state, and 4% foreign.
Where well in the hell are they? Saturday afternoon spend time at the library or labs . It’s not the student body the other football schools have . They don’t !!
@wingtee, you do realize that it was Foley who hired White, not Stricklin--just one more case of your singular focus on football poisoning your opinion of anything SS has done. Far more than 10 percent of the Gator nation appreciate a national championship in any Gator sport, both male and female. It is more likely that the 10 percent you mentioned are those whose narrow opinion of gator sports resides only on FB and MBB to the exclusion of any other success achieved by Gator athletes.
you might want to correct your opinion. I was talking about Cam the woman's coach. Boy he was a loser
For the record for those who can’t comprehend:
I like Stricklin a lot
My love is for the Football, MBB . and Baseball however I do appreciate when the other sports win but it doesn’t move the needle.
Maybe you were referring to Missouri Gator in the opinion about SS!!!
For all the All Sports trophy Gator fans , you can’t even win those anymore.
This thread took a detour.
It became a "let's b!tch about the AD thread". Don't we have enough of those already?
So Excited for Football
Name a college program that has won a national title in football, basketball and baseball? Name a program that has won back to back college basketball titles?
Per the linked source
Florida is one of six schools to win a national championship in baseball, basketball and football, joining Cal, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford and UCLA.
The Gators are the only program to win a title in each sport in the last 50 years.
This date in Florida Gator sports history: NCAA baseball champions
Foley hired White.
