The story on Yahoo has a pic of all three of them on the field at TDA (I presume) with him holding the Howser trophy and all three sporting Gator shirts. Nice little reminder to prospects and parents!!!

Royals prospect uses signing bonus to give parents the best possible Christmas gift
    Jack Baer Yahoo Sports
Brady Singer’s family is probably going to remember this Christmas for the rest of their lives.

The Kansas City Royals pitching prospect celebrated Christmas with his parents this year and handed them a letter containing his gift: a clearance of all the debt they accrued while supporting Singer’s career in the expensive world of elite youth baseball.

Singer captured his mother reading the card to his father and posted the video on Twitter. Their reaction as they process just what their son is saying is a perfect Christmas moment:

Anyone who has been involved in baseball knows what an incredible sacrifice of money, 200,000 miles on the truck, weekends in hotels, and time parents put into kids who reach this level. Literally, everything resolves around baseball. I am sure it is done never expecting anything in return (except for your child to be happy and have the opportunity to pursue his dreams) but it is nice to see the appreciation shown for the crucial role the parents play. Well done Singer!

Eustis, UF star pitcher Singer hits home run on social media

Royals’ draft pick paid off parents’ debt for Christmas

    By Stephen Hudak Orlando Sentinel
Former Eustis High and University of Florida baseball star Brady Singer, the nation’s top college player this year and a first-round pick of the Kansas City Royals in June, proved on Christmas that sometimes there is crying in baseball.

His mother, Jacquelyn Singer, fought off tears as she read a Christmas letter from her son, who thanked his parents for helping him reach his dreams.
The 22-year-old right-hander, who signed a pro contract in July that included a $4.25 million signing bonus, repaid his parents’ support by paying off their house loan and other debts.

“There’s absolutely no way I could have done all this by myself. Both of you constantly took off of work and spent every dime you made just to put a smile on my face,” he wrote in the letter. “I will always remember traveling around Florida for baseball trying to cheaply eat and save money, but I never could because you both always wanted me to have the best stuff to pursue my dream. The money you both spent on traveling and gear, hotels, food and all those Gatorades I drank is much more than I can ever give you...”

One hasnt lived till they spend a week in a cramped hotel room in Ft Myers Jupiter, or East Cobb in mid summer with 3 teenage boys. Sweaty gear, clay covered unis, mixed with rain to keep everything wet, and spikes that smell like nothing else on earth. Good times.
Singers a great family and wonderful to see things work out so happily
