Only so much you can do when you have 3 curls on the route tree and the defense is playing a cover 4 shell at the sticks though. Play calling means a lot more than he’s giving it credit for.

Stricklin should be thanking the almighty that the team won 8 games last year, because he would have been the first out the door to allow a new AD to pick the next HBC.

He needs to make it to a bowl game to keep his job for one more year...

That’s our standard now, so that is probably the right answer.

Billy Donovan’s basketball pick you mean. Seeming as he’s the only person Scott visited with. I wish he would give Steve the same courtesy.

Not sure what yo mean by that. I know Strick has been prone to lean toward forward thinking program builders. Which worked in MBB. I know you’re hell bent on Nape crashing & burning but I think most of us are fine with seeing how this season plays out.

The crash and burn has already happened he’s got the worst winning % in modern UF history. It’s about what UF thinks of themselves as a program now, and it’s obviously 3rd or 4th tier. Hopefully DJ wins despite the glaring deficiencies in this staff that’s where I’m at. Is what it is.

Be sure to bet that. You can get 10 wins at +5000 at your local sports book. Go get rich.

He has to have the ability to be an elite wb. Coaches can halp but they can't create something that isnt there. DJ either develops or Napier may be looking for a job.

9-3 is the bar for me. I’m a bit worried about our defensive line next year (or this year if we have injuries). We haven’t recruited well at defensive tackle. LSU has 3 of the top 10 defensive tackles in this year’s class. This is one of the first places I look when judging a team’s potential. We may have to get lucky in the portal. This is Napier’s opportunity this year.

I usually look to a qbs third year as to when they usually peak. DJ has six games of experience and we probably see some growth still happening. The oline for next year will have some new names though. Hopefully it can all align.

Yeah, third year for a qb can be great…just worried about the losses on offensive and defensive lines. I think we are going to miss Sapp and slaughter a ton.

in the third year, he will either be great or not. It's just impossible to know beforehand if there's going to be that development to the next level. A bunch of physical attributes have very little to do with the ability to play quarterback next week. Get trask or Danny with AR Physical traitsand you got a Hall of Famer

Defend the Swamp, no less than .500 on the road, and at least be competitive with hopefully a win in Jacksonville.

He literally said “he is the search committee” when he brought in Dan Mullen. If he doesn’t pick the Football Coach you should probably let him know.

I like to look at it this way. Who in our conference wins all but 2 games of the slate of LSU, Miami, Texas, aTm, Ole Miss, and Tennessee while still having to play two other in-state schools who circle our game as their sole game of the year? Maybe Bama, Texas and Georgia? I'm not sure any of them would. 4 losses means this is a playoff caliber team. Even with the talent on non-top tier SEC schools like Tenn, Ole Miss and LSU, a 500 record against that slate would be disappointing but not meaning catastrophe occurred. Four losses by Bama wouldn't floor me. The SEC is just stacked with talent and great coaches.

I have my own thoughts but realistically I don't think he gets fired even if he goes 6-6.

Uf has no president and Fuchs is stepping down Sept. 1st. So UF will have it's second interim president and that person hasn't been named yet.

UF won't even start looking for a new president until early 2026.
