I've lived in STL for 22 years and my wife and most of her family are from here. If you want, let me know what sort of things you are interested in, food and drinks of interest and where you are staying and I'll give you some choices if you are in town. I won't be making the games because I'm recovering from foot surgery but I'd love to help make you trip fun.

Not as bad as East St. Louis.

If you are downtown and want Italian there's Gitto's at 6th and Pine, which is walking distance from many of the downtown hotels. Very old style with cops at the bar eating dinner sometimes.

If you have a car try Blues City Deli for lunch. There's always a line outside the door.

Schlafly Tap Room at Locust and 20th. Drive there. Good food and great brew.

4 Hands is another micro brew. Great beer and good food. Its south of the stadium.

Lots of other good places and a variety of atmodpheres if you drive. Triumph Grill in near SLU as are many other places for food and drink. Its a little more upscale but not too expensive. They also have an amazing motorcycle musuem.

Soulard is a brief drive or cab ride south. Try Mission Taco and McGurk's. Venice Cafe is a bit edgy but good. Better to drink there than eat.

There are so many good place to eat and drink. If you go hungry or thirsty is STL you just didn't try.

Let me know your hotel or what you are interested in and I'll help.

A city...is a city...is a city. Creativity in developing unique cities is gone. I am sure there are places to eat, bars to drink and Wally Worlds galore.

Where are the best places for nightlife? Bars that will have live music (cover bands) So far I have found Ballpark Village and Paddy O's to be the best options. Anything else close to Scottrade Arena? Southard seems to have some good bar/restaurants. Can you head that way and then walk around?

    Where do you recommend?

Soulard has places as well as dogtown and SLU. You will need to drive, cab or uber. There is plenty of street parking. You could walk to the Landing but I haven't been there in years. Washington ave has some places but I'm not sure about crowds there now.

Two local microbrews are Schafly Tap Room and 4 Hands. The Old Rock House is a walk but a drive, cab or uber is the best bet. Old Rock House has bands and sometime they are big names. All varieties of music. Urban Chestnut is good and one location is an old style beer hall. That needs a car. Pappys bbq is a drive and by SLU. Get there when they open. Lunch only and when they are out, they are out.

There's Jazz at the Bistro near SLU and lot of places to eat and drink. Almost forgot about that.

Don't be afraid to Google music in stl. There are plenty of places.

If you have any specific interests I haven't covered let me know: family stuff, trendy hipster, little edgy, or more so. You can always go to Ian Froebs stl 100 for really good restaurants, and a lot of them not expensive.

    Hope this isn't to disorganized.

Lunch. Blues City Deli. You will need to drive. The Aporkalypse with extra Boom Boom says is great. Sloppy Steve isn't bad either. The line is always outside the door but it moves well.

Very good breakfast at Chris’ @ the Docket.

    Pappy’s has great ribs.

Ballpark Village was empty last night.

Most major cities have something unique about them for places to eat. As for the US I love New Orleans and San Francisco especially. I can even find places that are great in Orlando if I can include Winter Garden in the metro area. The whole US is not filled with Olive Gardens.

Yes, please don't go to Hooters. If you at Chris' you could try Gittos at 5th and Pine if you like Italian for dinner. Tap Room at 20th and Locust is good.

There are garages but there's plenty of street parking east of the arena. Any place between there and Busch Stadium should be good.
