Quite the logjam with 5 teams at 3-1 and 7 teams at 2-2. This weekend will start to shed some clarity. The pups are back in the pack at 2-2 where they belong and could easily go on a 5 game losing streak(keeping my fingers crossed). Vandy could also go on a L streak, hopefully it’s at least a 2-game streak.
Yep, we're just 4 games in. It's bound to be close at this point. After Saturday, there'll be a little separation, but even then it's still early.
I thought we had an unfairly tough schedule last year, it didnt matter in the end, but it was brutal. I have to admit, we seemed to have gotten a much easier path this year. Bama, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas and UK at home. We do have to go to Rupp, but they don't look like a great team right now. Vandy is the toughest road game, but if we get that one we are in the drivers seat.
Play well and we cn win a bunch of games especially if our guards play like they have in the last two games.
Vandy got roasted by TX. Saturday will be tough. If the Gators can win, though, they achieve some separation in the SEC. Texas has good wins against Bama and Vandy, but sits at 2-2. Seems like Ark, Vandy, and FL are the best teams right now.
I'll take Florida, Arky, Mizzou, and Bama. I agree Mizzou will be streaky at times, both good and bad, but their size gives them the advantage over Vandy. That said, if we face Mizzou again in the SECT we should win.
At 4-1 - we are #1 right now! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/team/_/id/57/florida-gators
OK now we are tied for #1 with aTm - but they have one less loss in Overall so they are above us, for now.
Interestingly, ESPN Matchup Predictor has us as a 60% favorite at A&M. The team tied with us at the top, we're favored on their floor. What a crazy swing since Missouri.
yes Missouri beat us, but Lunardi only has 9 SEC teams making the Big Dance and Missouri is just 12th per Kenpom after losing at LSU. 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings
Well what a weekend is was for Florida! TA&M does not concern me at this point. The top 4 teams in conference are still a little fuzzy but we know Florida will be one of them. I still think Bama and Arky will get there but my Mizzu pick is looking badly. I'm still not sold on Vandy or TA&M but this week will reveal a better idea who is stepping up. Vandy goes to Arky and Miss State. They should be happy just to win one right now. TA&M gets Miss State and USCe at home before the schedule gets a whole lot harder at Georgia, at Bama, and then the Gators and Mizzu come to town, before going to Vandy. My guess they lose 4 out of 5. 13 games are still to go so lots of key games to play. Does Kentucky really have a chance to be good or are they the luckiest team in the conference this year? They have to play the Gators twice so buckle up Cats. It's going to get rough. Will Alabama get healthy again while there's still time? Can Mike White at Georgia keep his team in the rankings? I think not. Will Mizzou learn to play with any consistency and use their height as an advantage. Lurker doesn't think so and I think he's right.

Kentucky has been very lucky of late, but how far they go will depend on the availability and effectiveness of Jayden Quaintance
