That's gonna be a heavy weight fight, no doubt.

First time in a while that Kentucky has no one on the 1st or 2nd preseason teams. Start of a new era in Lexington

Alijah will make it on one of these lists by the season’s end. Guy is just too much of a baller. I don’t think the SEC coaches understand what type of player we picked up.

Ole Vernon, if Elijah has his speed, better shot and being a tough, defender, then the SEC will have to design ways around him, can’t wait.

I think we could have three more potential guys on that list by the end of the season - Martin, Richard, Condo - and three additional guys that have the potential to be, if not this year then next year - Haugh, Chinyelu and Aberdeen

First step tomorrow night. Let's see what type of team we have when the games start counting

Wow. Can’t imagine that has happened since the Billy Gillespie era.

I saw that his shot was off for one game, but he still had a decent outing. He's going to have some big games for us where he is why we won.

He missed some defensive assignments in the first half (like everyone on the team), but became a lockdown guy for most of the 2nd half. Chalk it up to first-game errors and jitters.
I'm going to also attribute our 3-ball shooting to first-game jitters. If it continues through the 2nd game, I'll start to worry.

Didn't realize sears was back. I really disliked watching him draw foul after foul last year and was hoping he was gone. Tough player but he irritated me during our games last year.

I'm not worried at all. In fact it's a good sign that even with a cold start, the Gators can put up 98 points and overcome a fiery and inspired team. We lost to Colorado because we couldn't match the energy and withstand the energy of a less talented but inspired team. USF balled out and was ready to execute the upset. We had everything to lose, and nobody would have blamed them if they mailed it in. I certainly wouldn't have blamed them, but they came out fighting. Gotta respect that effort from the Bulls.

We aren't going to have a hot shooting night every game, but if you do the other things well, you can still win impressively. Problem is in the first half of the first half, we didn't do the other things well.

Yeah, he initiates all the contact but still gets all the calls. Infuriating.

I don't disagree with most of that, except for the claim that Colorado was less talented, especially on that day. Their RPI was well ahead of ours they and had some really good players. But if we'd not lost our starting center and the SEC's best rebounder the game before, I think we win that game. We were suddenly thin in the interior.
