Man if I ever seen a perfect for our scheme it was this guy. This sucks. Not gonna get em all though. This season probably gonna hurt the 2020 class.

What’s the background story for Barnes not listing UF? Do you know anything? Have you interviewed him?

Nothing fishy about this at all. It looks like he wants to have a Ben Simmons type of impact in his one season of college ball.

Kentucky thought they were getting him. I’d rather have him at FSU.

Really odd recruitment. A few years ago I remember us recruiting him hard and thinking he was a lean to UF. Then he eliminated us. Now he's signing with a loser.

I thought I heard he was a lock to Oregon not that long ago. Maybe we can one-up them clowns by signing Cunningham.....Still a long-shot, but I've also heard he's narrowed it down to us and OSU.

Kentucky feels really good about their visit with Cunningham. I still can’t imagine a scenario in which is not an Oklahoma state.

Definitely wishful thinking on my part. It's only in the last week that I've started thinking we have more than a snowball's chance. But not much more than that.

Let me ask you a preliminary question, and then I will answer you. Who do you like better as a player, Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson?

For the pro game Jordan, for the college game Magic.

What fate do you see for MW if he doesn't close on a big in 2020?

Old message so I can't remember if it was a direct reference to PJ Hall, but it will be disappointing if we don't add a skilled big in this class. Osifo doesn't project to be a scorer. He's more a defense/rebounding type. I don't follow recruiting as closely as others on this board, but PJ seemed like the only top 100 skilled big we went all in on for this class and he's looking less likely every day.

Great question Jack and even better answer Tundra. While Barnes and Lewis are no Magic or Michael the parallel is a decent comparison to make. Personally I would take Barnes over Lewis because Barnes is best with the ball in hand and will control the other four players like Magic. His main focus is offense and not defense but his size helps make up for his lack of defensive presence. Lewis might be a better all around player with his high level of defensive skills and ability to finish at the rim but he is not going to control the game with ball in hand. Defensively Lewis would not have as big an impact as Barnes can on offense. That said Lewis may end up being the better college player and Barnes the better pro player.

FSU has made the sweet 16 the past two years, they push play in Florida for the best basketball conference in the country, go against highly ranked talent, be coached by a former NBA coach that has gotten kids drafted. Hamilton is now in his early 70s and still recruiting highly ranked classes. Think White has had only one class ranked higher than Hamilton during the time White has been at UF. Hamilton has also brought in a lot of bigs when White was having challenges recruiting them.
