    Tracking Florida's scholarship players for 2018 - GatorSports.com
Here is another look at where we stand. I reviewed it and saw very few questions as to positions and redshirts given. The important part is the numbers. We are at 79 players currently with 9 seniors. We could sign at least 15 recruits for 2019 in addition to the unknown players that transfer out or turn pro. That number seems to be settling in. My guess most of any more transfers will happen right before fall practice or just after the season. I'm still guessing we sign between 20-22 and not the 24-25 like many are saying.

Didn't Campbell came from a prep school and only had 4 years to play 4 right? So he should have a *

Why is Dunlap a true Junior? Shouldn't he have taken a redshirt last year?

Not sure about Campbell. Gators web page has him as a true sophomore.
Dunlop is listed as a true junior on the site as well.

My suggestion is to wait until November. Then we might have a better idea.

Most of the 'recruiting guys' who cover UF think we take at least 24. That's my guess. Keep in mind some of these 79 are walk-on's who have been given a 1-year scholarship. Those other 6 will be given away as well before the fall starts.

Hmmmm ghost - the only walk-on I saw was Tommy Townsend.

I think 22-23 for the simple reason that this is Coach Mullen's preference.

Although the distribution by year looks fairly well-balanced overall other than a shortage of seniors almost everywhere, in fact, this reflects a simply Horrible Distribution by position for the simple reason that so many positions are overloaded at one level (SR TE, Jr WR, Jr DL, Soph DB) that this will almost surely cause bad shortages at those positions in the future.

I can't see why Coach Mullen doesn't move Clement to WR and redshirt him. That would reduce the need this year for new WRs.

It was not long ago we thought only room for 19ish in the 2018 class- and that was with a much shorter horizon until NSD but it turned out we could have signed 22+. I imagine when all is said and done we can sign a full class or at least have room for as many quality players as the staff can persuade.

That's what I like about this list. They have filtered out most of the walk-on names. I'm thinking these are the only ones that apply to the scholarship count big picture. I'm guessing Townsend may have been given a full scholly to be on this list.
My 20-22 number is probably low in the end but until more players leave I'm staying conservative with expectations. As more players leave then we will see where more recruits will be needed by position.

There is always attrition and injuries that can’t be accounted for. I expect a few will leave on their own as the depth chart settles itself.
