Last year as a Gator was not great. Winning season, yes. But always lurking under the covers was the malaise of Napier’s incompetence. It forced one to ask - “can anyone really grow a brain?” Yet, the joy of utter incompetence at FSU last year was real. We might not be great, but they are terrible. Reading about the fsu loss last night provided no lift to me after our debacle. You can’t enjoy the misery of even a despised rival when you are pathetic. I feel collective apathy with fsu. Napier has even eliminated schadenfreude. That is a level of destruction I never thought possible at uf. Stricklin surely deserves heavy blame too (especially for not firing him last year when it was clear the guy is a dolt).
Perhaps the thread title should be "Schadenfreude Lost." I didn't watch the 2nd half of last night's game. Just another flushable season.
Yea, its not even just FSU, miami was supposed to be a national title contending team with Beck winning the Heisman -- Once again the entire state of Florida football is bad, and we can't even relish in the Miami and FSU loses.

Stricklin was tricked into "not jumping on the coaching merry go round." Which is one half reality and one half the competition not wanting you to a) get a better coach and b) drive up the price of head coaches.
It would be interesting to one day hear what the hell he was thinking when he gave out that ridiculous contract.
It’s a good thing both FSU and Miami are struggling. We don’t want more fanbases acting like UGA right now.
Funny is USF has a better shot of the playoffs than the Big 3 courtesy in part to BN’s incompetence in that game.
