Has anyone purchased one of these? I saw one of these in a friend of a friends homes and thought it looked really cool. Wanted to see if anyone had one prior to pulling the trigger on getting one.
I was unaware of these intriguing devices. It seems to fill a nice niche for a device that adds visual appeal when not showing the Price is Right. It seems a bit pricey and I wonder if it will survive the test of time. This may be the start of a trend or could be a dead end not unlike 3D television of a few years ago.
Well I ordered one yesterday. I’ll pass on a review after I get it installed and live with it for a bit.
This is what it looks like when the TV is off. You can change the painting or upload a photo of your own.
I don't get it. How is this an extra feature? The bezels on most new TVs are that size. Why couldn't anyone put "matting and art" inside that?
I'd rather spend that kind of cash for superb picture quality and less for esthetics. It'd make sense for someone who had a top-notch designed house where tv is an afterthought
I've been extremely please with the picture quality. However, hanging a TV over the mantle is typically one of the biggest interior designing mistakes most people make. Allowing the TV to function as a framed piece of art instead of blank TV, was a very big plus.
I am not a fan of putting a TV on the wall, and not above the fireplace. I am a TV stand guy. Hanging on the wall always puts it at a weird angle for me.
So the previous owner had it completely set up so that there was already a cord set up to go through the wall and down to the right of the fireplace. Unfortunately, Samsung changed the cord interface so I could not use it.
I’m thinking plastic channel to hide the cord same as the wall color? It’s a great looking tv shown off. Beats a black tv being off.
I had my handy man over and the plan is cut, paste, and repaint some dry wall to allow the cord go through the back of the wall like the previous owner had it.
