Sorry, didn't mean to have a dramatic title but it fits...

With Alabama barely beating what turns out to be a pathetic Gator team, and barely beating the under-powered LSU team that we have heard so much about since our loss to LSU... Is it possible the shine is off Saban and he may be, gasp, past his prime ala Bobby Bowden's final few years?

I know it sounds like a leap... But Alabama has been one thing, if nothing else, an absolute machine. How could they suddenly be... Vulnerable?

Just a thought to take our mind off our team. Carry on...

What's his buyout? Probably relish a new challenge and dominating the SEC from a new school and a new division might be just the thing.

Problem a burp due to the constant assistant turnover, I'm sure he will be just fine.

They tied Miami for most players drafted in the first round last year (6), and tied O$U for total (10) in a draft. They currently only have 1 loss after losing all that talent. A drop off is kind of expected after that kind of talent loss.

Yeah, their total losses this year have already tied for their 6th worse season since 2008. That ship is sinking.

Keep in mind they beat our crappy team by 2 pts and we lost to LSU.

Bama will never be on the decline to me until they miss the playoffs or have a recruiting class out of the top 10.

They have a first year starter redshirt freshman quarterback who by the way he has in the Heisman conversation. They are young and return a ton next season. They win it all next season easily and have a chance to win it all this season too if Kirby chokes which is possible.

So no he isn’t slowing down.

He doesn’t need to stay top dog forever. But he does need to stay top dog long enough to box out Georgia this year.

Just a down year after losing 9 of 11 offensive starters to the NFL and lots of staff turnover as usual. The downside to your seasons not ending until January is that only the dregs of the coaching world remain available for hire.

What’s wrong with Bama? Why do they all of a sudden look human and vulnerable? Scott Cochran and his PED program left Tuscaloosa for Athens…

Agree. They replaced an NFL team last year with a good college team this year. My money is on them beating UGA in Atlanta. They will expose the UGA offense.

Some (now former) UF assistant coaches should still be available well into next year if Saban needs to replenish.

We shall see. I guess I could argue if he has "lost it" it is because other "creative" programs have caught up with him and now he is merely a quality HC and not a transcendent one (if he ever was, see the Pats and Belichick without Brady). And I think the NIL mess will turn out to expose who are the real players versus who are the "creative" ones of today.
