Honestly, I thought it was a mistake for him not to play. Hes got some emotion on the course, and nobody else had much on Friday or Saturday.

That seemed far worse than even recent Ryder cups which have gotten more "fútbol“ like - but straight up attacking players is even another level. Just came through as trashy. I don’t think you can even attribute it to alcohol sales, as it was out of control right away. They should have nipped some of it in the bud by kicking peopie out. But supposedly the PGA had a Dj leading a “f u Rory” chant, so it seems they must’ve wanted it that way. They wanted a Phoenix open/LIV golf party vibe. Bad idea to test that with an already obnoxious NYC crowd.

The final day wasn’t as bad, I guess because a lot of the douchebags and front runners dumped their tickets.

Yes, I think so; maybe they shouldn’t have the damn event.
I’ve heard about that Phoenix Open, crazy!

My 88 YO mom has golfed for over 60 years and still golfs a few times a year now when the weather is good (not too hot, windy, etc.). I have golfed a total of three rounds in my last 30 years. I was more bothered by the ungolf-like gallery behavior than she was. She tends to do other things while golf is on, though, like nap, read, dust, cook, and the soccer atmosphere probably didn’t register with her. I was disappointed and thought it was just another ugly American example.
