Still around. Just busy. And lacking the patience for melodrama as I get older!

Oh, you are still wrong, btw. Not sure about what, but I know you are wrong.

  5. Come back Rick! (While we are at it, come back Harrnets as well)

Always enjoy when two knowledgeable posters go at it..... as opposed to posters like me who used to run the 4 Corners in high school when the starters needed a rest.

Speaking of which....what is everyone’s background when it comes to hoops?
    @harnettgator ? @rserina ? @akaGatorhoops ?@cincinnatigator ? @hatter18 ? And others?

    Me: I’m just a fan.
I would love a basketball 101 clinic for fans, if possible...that would help me know some nuances like “Showing” on the screen, “high hedging”, etc, what to do when teams over play the passing lanes or front the post, or, what to do vs a 1-3-1 zone vs a 3-2 zone, etc.

No need to hide your identity Coach Hamilton. We're happy to give you some pointers.

In two end-game situations, FSU might have been better off with me on the sideline!

    I’m just a fan too!
I grew up w the game - attending virtually every Iona game from the ages of 4-10. My dad had played there, and remained very much a fan well after. And that was passed on to me. I was a Gaels fan waaaay before I was a Gator. And dreamed of playing hoops for Iona!
I played endlessly as kid and went to some of the better NY camps. I was really good ... but sadly my career peaked around 9 years old. That’s when I made the all-star game at one of the better camps and was guest-coached by Lou Carnesecca! But it was all downhill from there. Lol!
I did play hs, but I was never a big kid, and was a very late bloomer. But I very rarely missed a ft, so I actually scored some points despite my size and pt. I was tiny until my jnr. year, and by that point had blown out my shoulder. Al Horford’s uncle played on my varsity team. He was tall ... but not very good. Lol! Still- I wonder if a very young Al was ever in the audience for one of my games. That would be irony, eh?!
My brother-in-Law was a gators walk on. The first column I ever wrote for GC was about his experiences.
My hoops playing at UF was largely relegated to the Broward Courts, where I played nearly every night freshman year. Played w Demetri there a couple times!
I haven’t coached much at all.. a couple years for a 14-year-old travel league. What a headache!!!
I think the last time I played any sort of competitive basketball was in 2002. I know this bc I still have the league championship t-shirt.
I always wore #45 - in recognition of Chuck Person.

And so ends the story of a very underwhelming career.

I guess for me, that adage is... “those who can’t, write”.

Just so you know I still think you're secretly Larry Vettel posting under a pseudonym.

Never played anything but intramural basketball, but have been a college hoops junkie since watching the UNC/Georgetown final game in 82. Having said that, I think I could probably run a more organized practice than Hamilton.

I played against Jim Valvano’s Iona team in the seventies.
Unfortunately I was matched up against Jeff Ruland who played in the NBA for several years. He was a beast.

WOW! I very well may have been at the game!! Ruland was an animal and those were some VERY good Iona teams. Beat the eventual title team, Louisville in Rulands junior season.
    Who did you play for?
