Looks like the camera went down in thunderstorm yesterday afternoon.
Osprey cam down till the fall from power outage.
I’m curious to learn what, if any, Osprey nest relocation practices will happen after next season?
It is going to be tricky. UF won't be able to demo if the nests are active.
Shouldn’t hold up construction of the new facility....
It doesn't look like this camera is going to be returning any time soon:
UPDATE: Unfortunately, the Osprey cam was stuck by lightning in April of 2018. Because of funding and logistics of maintaining the camera, we could not replace the camera and there will not be streaming of the osprey nest in the near future. We appreciate all the support and interest in the Osprey cam! We hope the two years of streaming gave folks an inside look to how these magnificent birds raise their chicks.
Sorry, @wingtee !
Does anyone know the approximate costs and logistics involved to get the camera up and running again?
Dang WES what am I going to do. ? As long as the Ospreys are ok!
Wouldn't be great if we started a fund for an osprey nest at the new stadium and they let us post a sign on the light pole that said something about Brought to you by Gator Country. I'd chip in something as long as the camera would be pointed back towards home plate so we could always see the stadium anytime of day.
I'll donate too
That is what am thinking too.
Sandman you still owe too many golfing debts to donate..
Bazz did you make 8t to the Daytona Beach Gator Club last night.? I was there.
No....we have a new neighbor and I was checking his waste for table scraps........
Just found the new location of Osprey nest. It's on the 2nd light pole over the lacrosse field over the home stands. (west side of field). Don't see a camera but you can see the bird.
I can see it now .. recruits uncertain about the new football complex .. Osprey say “hell no we won’t go”
Well we can all breath easy ! Life is back in order
