Great for Wells indeed. I think he turns 29 this year. :)

Cool article with a little history on his patience to get his chance. He had just about every reason to go elsewhere. Rick Wells: Loyal teammate, patient worker and a touchdown scorer | GatorCountry.com

Really thought Whittemore was going to take off this year. He’s gotten an okay number of opportunities but I had just expected more given his size, speed and jumping ability.

Getting to toss the TD and doing it perfectly probably made his year.

Agree 100%. The receivers are doing an excellent job blocking downfield, in general. Not sure how @AndrewSpivey can state in the most recent GC podcast that the receivers blocking is trash. What games was he watching?

In the passing game it's more like all is Wells that ends well. Or it seems that way.

Wells was a high three or low four star prospect. He might have been part of a package deal to get Tyrie Cleveland.

Good for him. He went from being the yearly running joke to leading the team in receptions.

I love that 1906 photo w/ Wells shopped in. Who did it? Did it come from Andre Debose?

I have seen a couple instances of not great blocking, but overall it has been good. Blocking is also probably why Shorter has the most snaps at receiver also.

Absolutely. The singular play that Spivey used as an example was definitely a missed wr block (actually two missed wr blocks). And that resulted in a loss of yards play. But, in general, the wr blocking has been excellent imo.

EJ is most comfortable in the short game, which favors Wells and somewhat Shorter. Copeland and Hendo are open down the field, we just struggle to push it to them

    Shorter for the shorter passes.

Jacob can climb the ladder for the 50/50 balls.

Wells won't go too deep. More shallow for Wells.

    Xzavier for crossing routes.

    Ahem.
