Whether AR is ready or not, I'm in the camp that would rather him start to build his game experience and reps over EJ at this point. Nothing wrong to me to have EJ come in for a series or two a game to let Mullen continue to teach AR from the sideline.

AR is the future. Those numbers he has put up are not flukes. He is unique. Will he throw ints and make bad decisions? Sure, but he has also shown the ability to anticipate before a receiver is open rather than waiting for them to break open.

We're in for a mediocre year from what I've seen from our defense.

Hopefully he's okay long-term. Would be great to have him next week but if he's not available, next man up.

Exactly. We don’t know the locker room. For all we know EJ is the most liked and respected guy on the team and doing him dirty might cause a big rift. Even if that were true, you still play the best player, but you have to be prudent. Playing two cupcakes gave Mullen the time he needed to let it all unfold.

AR is out for at least 2 weeks. Bama game was always going to be an L. With no AR, its going to be a really really bad L

I was prepared for this season to be a bit sketchy. Breaking in a new QB, and coming off one of the worst defenses I've ever seen. I expected mediocrity this year. 7-5 or 8-4 would not surprise. I expected the D to slightly recover, and the offense to be a bit mediocre and more ball control oriented (which also helps the defense). But seeing AR has my interest a bit more piqued.

If we can get that defense back to an somewhat elite level, I really think we can make a run next year again with AR as a Heisman candidate QB (a more legit run than with our sieve defense from last year).

Sure looks like a hammy to me. The thing is they can be a nagging injury and the way he runs away from the D he is susceptible to injure that again. Personally, I would keep him out and let it heal. The reason being, we are not going to beat Bama, not with this D and not with Jones playing any significant number of downs. Even with a healthy AR the odds are against us. I believe Bama will score 40 or more points on this D. We will not be able to keep up.
However, with a healthy AR starting, I believe we can win out provided he stays healthy. Just my 2 cents.

To beat bama AR would probably need to play every snap. Only chance of trading punches.

The hamstring may be pulled, partially torn, or completely torn. Hamstring injuries rarely need surgery. For minor muscle pulls, you may need two to four weeks’ rest before you can safely return to your activities. For more severe muscle tears, you may need rehabilitation for two to three months, with complete healing occurring by four to six months.
