I've seen this so many times, it makes me sick. The last time we played Bama in The Swamp, our DBs could not even get within arms length of their receivers without the refs tossing their flags on us.

I've always believed that Alabama under Saban never got a holding penalty until they were ahead by at least three TDs in the second half, but I'm too lazy to do the research. It just seemed that way, similar to Auburn at Jordan-Hare. That is probably the fan in me talking, though...

My issue with the refs was more with their non-calls than with their calls. They actually called very few penalties, and, even though the fans booed, I think they were mostly accurate calls. But, plays like the lack of a targeting call on Lagway's slide and other plays were errors of omission. It would have been hard to catch bad spots from our seats, so, not sure about that one way or the other.

And we were never a “lesser team” when he was HBC

What was his record against FSU again? Never mind Nebraska...

Never mind Nebraska is right. That team of thugs and criminals could have gone >50% against the NFL in 95.

ref$u was a unique situation in its own right. There was no “lesser team”, just ACC refs and dirty dirty play from the absolute scummiest coaching staff and team in the business. Look what happened when we got on neutral turf with neutral refs in 96

SOS never won at Doak. I can understand the later years (after the swindle) of having ACC refs there, but I don’t know why the SEC refs didn’t protect us a bit up there in the early years.

That leaves one option... weed out the crappy refs once and for all.

That’s what FSU says about ACC refs. The SEC refs did protect us against USF recently.

Lol, he still went 5-8-1 against FSU., and no, not everyone on the 1995 Huskers were thugs and criminals. AFAIK, only Lawrence Phillips. They were simply an all-time great team...and BTW, Tommie Frazier just scored again...:D

Moreso in non-conference games with lesser opponents.

    Your memory is...not so good.
I'm guessing the "eighties' in your name is your age??
Nebraska under Osburne was a cesspool of criminals and roids.

No, not everyone, but there were enough to call it a team full of criminals. You don't recall the transgressions by Christian Peter and that CB that shot into an occupied vehicle? Both played in that game. There were probably more good boys playing for that team too.
