Realistically, if you could choose our new DC, who would it be?

There’s no way that out defense has the worst talent ever, nor does LSU have the best running game either. If that were true it would just suck to be in that place. This is squarely on coaching, scheme, whatever you want to call it.

 

Not sure I believe in that train of thought. Pruitt was a great recruiter at Bama and a cheater a Tennessee. Results are the reality.

 

I believe that if UM fires Manny Diaz, he’s a near lock to be hired as DC. We can spitball our preferred candidates all day long, but coaches nearly always hire assistants with whom they’ve previously worked & have a relationship with. CDM hired Diaz at MSU & while he only stayed a year before jumping to UTx, the defense made a huge turnaround and finished top 20 nationally. Doesn’t hurt that he has strong ties to S FL and is known to be a good recruiter.

Dan needs to do some serious soul searching. He’s getting his ass handed to him in this Gator standard thumb wrestling match.

 

Well, this hire is crucial as half the fan base is already having doubts about his ability to lead the program. It’s his free pass, like last year was TG’s free pass after firing two defensive assistants.

 

Needs to nail this hire and whatever other changes need to be made on defense. AR is showing to be a special talent. If you can put a reliable defense out there, you could win a title next year.

I'd be hesitant about the UK guy since you know that's Stoops' defense. Romeo Crennel is like 158 years old. Haven't paid much attention to Coastal, what kind of defense does Staggs run?
