Davis may not even play this year. I cant believe he messed up his knee that bad against UGA. kid had 1,000 yard rusher written all over him.

Anyone know if he'll be ready in the Fall or red shirt this season?

Everyone already knows I like Pierce a lot, but Lemons is going to be really, really good too. Hes so much like Davis its scary imo.

Pierce is just one of those backs who can instantly see a hole at the LOS and pop through it for a big gain. Lemons is the long run threat off the end and Pierce is the guy who can bust those 10 and 20 yard gains between the tackles at any time.

Of Scarlett, Perine, Pierce, Clement, and Lemons... I think Pierce and Lemons are potentially the best two backs in the backfield and could end up the top two backs. Maybe not this season, but by 2019.

SMH with the assumptions about Davis. In a couple months folks on here going to be claiming it was a career ending injury.

Don't be shocked if you see Pierce get touches early. He's got the power and vision to really execute our dive reads, and he has shocking breakaway ability for his running style. I've seen him pull away from track stars in highschool in the open field.

Scarlett is an NFL back, he will show it this year. Think Moody, but waaaay better. The biggest change in the run game will be the incorporation of the WRs in the jet sweep game, and the fabled counter play, Harvin feasted on.

This year, even without Davis, the Gators are absolutely Loaded at RB with Scarlet coming back. Perine is no slouch, but as Gray said, he might end up being 6th string, even without Davis. Lemons & Pierce are both excellent.

My guess is that Clement plays WR or Slot. Recall that Coach Mullen likes athletes who can play multiple positions, which he can do.

I see Clement as an outside LB not a RB in this scheme. Good athlete just not sure he's got it running the ball to crack this rotation moving forward.

I think he settles in as a Will LB in the 3-4 and contributes right away this fall on special teams.

According to Davis' family, he will be ready this Fall.

Unless Perine really digs in this offseason he will get passed up by everyone come midseason. He is the least talented of the backs and is well behind Davis and Scarlett.

I don’t believe rbs with his talent should redshirt. He’s probably in nfl after three years regardless

All of our RB's bring something positive to the table.

Help me out. What issues did he have other than an injury and poor grades? I can't recall.

I don't know the actual reason was reported but he was kicked out of Clearwater High and had to attend and alternative school his senior year. I could be wrong but, I don't think grades were actually ever a problem for him.

Weed. He was the number 1 ranked back in Florida at the time.

Plenty of unknowns going into Spring

    1) Will Davis be back for the beginning of the season, later in the year or is a redshirt a distinct possiblility
    2) Will Scarlett be suspended for one or more games to start the season
    3) Will Clement be a fulltime running back or more of an athlete in the Harvin/Toney role

Unless we see additional injuries, we could start the season with Perine, Lemons and Pierce but I imagine non-running backs could end up with a quarter of the carries or more

A quarter of the carries? That's a lot of jet sweeps, wildcat plays, etc., etc. Maybe more like one out of 10 carries or even less.

I was just making fun of those who thought the gumps actually wanted him back when he signed with us. I seriously doubt they had any serious interest but like you said he would have transferred by now if he actually did go there unless the "benefits" were too good. :D

    1) I have no idea. His uncle's say he'll be back but there is zero reason to rush this kid back into action in which he hurts himself more severely.

    2) I thought Scarlett was good to go. His suspension was behind him.

    3) I see Clement following the a similar ARC as Brandon Powell. Starts off at rb then when he realizes that our backfield is crowded will switch to the slot and help Toney and the other kids. Personally, I didn't think Powell was very good but I hope Clement has a more successful career.
