Yes, it is. I was in Omaha when FSU (Fresno) won it. We talked to their left fielder during two of their games.

TV announcer (maybe Peterson) said during the game that Cags is only a year out from the TJ surgery and it is usually year two when fully back.

Cags played last year as a DH.

So when did he have his TJ?

Kind of sounds like he is more than a year out but less than two years out.

Or did he "take it easy" on his off year by only hitting?

Fans Vote Randy Johnson Their Favorite USC Baseball Player Ever - USC Athletics
    [IMG]
Caglianone is 6' 5", not quite as tall as "The Big Unit" Randy Johnson who stood 6' 10". But Randy also suffered from erratic wild pitching early on in his career at USC and later on as pro with the Mtl Expos. It took him a lot longer than a year to figure it out but it was sure worth it! At 303 MLB victories he's the 5th most winningest pitcher ever.

Great pitcher, but not the 5th most wins all time. He's 22nd on the list.

And credit is given by RJ to Nolan Ryan with Tom House for harnessing his control with proper mechanics i.e., leg drive-release-and follow through.

    Oops sorry, bad reading comprehension:
    5th most wins by a left-hander
His 4,875 strikeouts are second most all time and 1st among lefties!
