I'm here in Miami and when I am out and about would love to get radio coverage of Gator baseball games.

How can I accomplish this? Local radio covers our football and basketball but not baseball.

Would getting Sirius sports do this?

I would love to hear Nick Belmonte's calling of games.

Would a more powerful radio do this?

As you may have guessed I am technologically strapped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

these are the only stations listed for UF baseball, I would contact my local station to see if they pick up some or all of the games

Sometimes when I am out and about it is easier to just call the Gator Broadcast line. 605-475-0104 is the number. Free--just takes cell minutes but I have unlimited.

I though the broadcast line was just for football and men’s basketball.

Radio stations throughout the state should be more interested in carrying local programming. Gator Baseball is better than repeat talk shows especially on the weekend.

I don’t get the philosophy of big market radio stations in markets like Miami that will air the Miami Marlins. The Gator Baseball team will have more wins than the Marlins this year.

Also, if you use TuneIn, make sure you stream ESPN98.1 (WRUF), sometimes baseball games (especially non-conference) don’t stream on the Gator IMG Sports Network channel on TuneIn.

If you call that is what the recorded message says. If you call during a baseball game, at least last year and years past, there was baseball. Of course if basket and base are playing at the same time--basket will be the broadcast.

Be thankful that baseball is broadcast on a station with some wattage. Gator softball is broadcast on WGGG which is powered by two hamster wheels in some garage.

You will need either the WRUF app or TuneIn radio app on your phone to get WRUF for the games. Or you have to get WRUF via its website.

Also, you will be out of luck if you are expecting Belmonte doing radio. The radio broadcasts are typically Steve Russell/Jeff Cardozo, or Mick Hubert/Jeff Cardozo. Belmonte is sometimes doing the TV/Online Streaming (WatchESPN) with Mick.
  12. Why don't you get one of those male-to-male cables (I'm getting older; don't know what the hell they're officially called), pull up the WRUF app on your smartphone, then plug your phone into your Auxiliary in your car system.
